The extra special car
Audi TTThe much anticipated Audi TT was finally released in the late 90’s. Much to the deliverance of the eagerly awaiting public the concept car of 1995 was translated into a reality that exceeded everybody’s expectations. Designed in an organic yet symmetrical front and rear profile the car showcased a look quite different then other models of Audi. The slab sided flanks provided a nice contrast to the front and rear. Although the car takes its roots from the VW golf the way it has been designed in both the interior and exterior terms makes it hard to trace out its roots.

What is the Audi TT? It’s not a sports car although it takes its name from the Tourist Trophy motor sports events which are held on the Isle of Man. Neither is it your average sport coupe or a roadster. Rather it is a bit of everything and a whole lot of something. The TT is a two seat GT available in front wheel and all wheel drive. The TT does have seats in the back but they would be best suited as cushioned storage space or adequate seating for kids as they are quite small. Its not meant to be a full time passenger vehicle now is it? The look and feel of the TT is quite like a sports car but when you analyze the specifications its more like a luxury sports coupe.

Many versions of the TT have been released in the market over the years. No matter which version you go with you will find the TT to be an incredibly fast car. If however speed is your major thrill then the older version of the TT will not be the ideal choice for you as it heavier than its forerunners and has touring comfort as its priority. If however you are looking for a sports coupe that is bent on giving you sports car like performance and out of the box style then the Audi TT will keep you more than satisfied.

This year’s version is the second generation of the Audi TT. The company has enlarged the overall size of the car but maintained the timeless look and feel of its predecessor. The frontal end is embedded with Audi’s new single frame grille and the character lines seem to be a lot crisper. Although the new TT is larger and wider than its predecessor it weighs in about 200 pounds lighter. The main reason behind the decreased body weight is the use of lightweight metal aluminum.
