Everybody is crazy about getting a car for himself, some just because of their passion for the four wheelers others to simply show off. However, if a person has a car of his own it may be comfortable on various aspects but at the same time there are various responsibilities to it.

Apart from insuring and maintaining the car the concern revolves around preventing it from being stolen. A person, who is not careful enough, may have his car stolen just in front of his eyes at a distance. Maybe being cautious by locking the doors or keeping the keys with oneself would not prevent the thieves from breaking into our car. Anybody attempting a theft would not risk drawing unnecessary attention towards him.

Nowadays, the Crime Bureau has made it legal to use boots by any common public. Boots are no more restricted to police officials; instead anybody could buy one for his car and plant it manually before leaving it alone. Once the boot is fixed the car is rendered immobile and without the help of a tow-truck it cannot be moved. Even the steel ignition-locks with hardened steel case are very effective to thwart away thieves.

The locks on steering wheel are not used widely these days because of the trouble of placing the metal lock on the steering every time the car is parked. People easily get worked up by this overhead and wish to get rid of it soon. Another effective device is the immobilizer, which on being implanted blocks the car engine, supply of fuels and various other critical sections. On various aspects this particular technology is used by the officials to set up a “bait car” for a thief to be trapped.

Even the column collars may prevent auto theft by allowing us to dismount the ignition and column switch from being accessed. Unfortunately all these features include direct involvement of the owners or drivers, which may not be possible for regular office goers. They usually resort to the car alarms and if possible inbuilt car tracking devices, which may locate the car until its recovery by keeping track of it continuously, since reporting of theft.
