Fiat Panda Review
Fiat Panda is one of those legendary vehicles which have been on the roads since the early 1980’s. The small city car, there haven’t been much changes which have been done with the Fiat Panda over the years. Although there have been cosmetic changes which have been made but no major changes were done till the year 2003. Being small in size, the Fiat Panda has been made primarily with city driving in mind. Its performance on the highways is nothing much to write home about.
Initially the Fiat Panda was made as a no frills basic car, which could run on the road and was not very heavy on the pocket to maintain. The new Fiat Panda which has come out of production lines since 2003 has been launched as a replacement vehicle for Fiat Seicento and the older Panda. The new Fiat Panda comes with features like ABS, Stability control, EBD, Air Bags as standard in all its variants. Considerable amount of emphasis towards drivers and passengers safety has been given by Fiat in the Panda.
Being a small car, it sports various engines of smaller configurations. The smallest engine; the 1.1 Liter Petrol SOHC Fire engine churns out 53 bhp power. Apart from this it’s also available in Diesel engine options. There are various engine options and lot variants are also available for Panda lovers. Over the years there have been a lot of prototypes as well and special editions of the Fiat Panda that have been launched. Editions like Fiat Panda Jolly, Fiat Panda Luxury, Fiat Panda Tanker and Fiat Panda MultiEco have been some of the most successful editions that have been launched by the company. Apart from these special editions, there have been certain manufacturers in the Chinese market, who have copied the designs and other specifications of the car to produce a copied version in their market.
Fiat took legal recourse against the said company and was successful in ensuring a ban on import of the vehicle into Europe. The car is preferred for use with the Italian Military and Polish Police; who have customized the Fiat Panda according to their requirements.
