A subsidiary of the popular Hero group is planning to release Hero Electric e-car or electric car in the Indian market in about five years from now. Much details about the car is not, however, currently available as the company has not disclosed any news with the public.

There is currently a great deal of demand for electric cars around the world due to the increase in fuel prices and India too is facing with the problem of the increase in the prices. The common car owner too would like to have a car that would drive on electricity because the electricity that an electric car would consume for a certain distance is much less compared to a fuel driven car running a similar distance. The Hero Electric e-car or electric car will thus be a blessing for those car buyers who would like to reduce their expenses by getting the car.

According to recent news, Hero Electric e-car or electric car is supposed to make its foray into Indian markets by the year 2013. There are also talks of three wheeler vehicles that would run on electricity being released along with the electric car. With a target of releasing the Hero Electric e-car or electric car within the next few years the company is currently carrying on a great deal of research on the prototypes for the car. The company is supposedly investing a large sum of money in the project.

It has been revealed that unlike most electric cars that are available internationally, the Hero Electric e-car or electric car would not use an electric battery as the charge for maintaining it tends to be large. The car will have capacitors in it which have the option of being charged easily and can help in traveling large distances after a single charge. Apart from the four wheeler passenger car that would be made available, the company also wishes to provide interested customers with three wheelers running on electricity that they can use for carrying load. These load carrying vehicles will, however, be available in limited numbers.
