53rd edition of one of India’s most iconic off-roading adventures concludes successfully in Hyderabad.

The Mahindra Great Escape, one of India?s most loved off-roading adventures, made its debut in Hyderabad which was the venue for the 53rd edition of this iconic event. A total of 50 Mahindra SUVs participated in this non-competitive rally which followed a challenging but fun route across 100 kms of tarmac, forests, streams, slushy mud tracks and hilly terrain.

The picturesque yet challenging route across Bowenapally, Balanagar, Jeedimatla and the Narsapur forest proved more than a match for both new age Mahindra SUVs like the Scorpio, Getaway and Bolero, as well as icons like the Legend, the Major and the Classic. The rally was flagged at 9.30am off from Taj Deccan Banjara hills by Roma Balwani VP & Head – Corporate Communication Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
As always, this edition of the Mahindra Great Escape received good support from associate sponsors such as JK Tyres, Bosch, Shell and Hi Speed Diesel fm Bharat Petroleum. The trusted „With You Hamesha? service team was also on standby to ensure that participants did not get stuck midway and could enjoy the rally unhindered.
Since its inception in 1996, the Mahindra Great Escape has grown into one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Indian off-roading calendar. Over several decades, Mahindra SUVs have developed a reputation for their ,tough and rugged? DNA which enables them to take on the most challenging of terrain, and nowhere is this more evident than at the Great Escape which tests the mettle of both man and machine in the most extreme conditions. From the hills of Coorg and Siliguri and the tea estates of Munnar to the undulating sand dunes of Mandawa in Rajasthan, the Great Escape has blazed a unique trail across the length and breadth of India.

After Hyderabad, the Mahindra Great Escape will now travel to Chandigarh in North.

A fresh new look…
In July 2009, the Mahindra Great Escape celebrated its Golden Jubilee in Goa, which was the venue for the 50th edition of one of India?s most eagerly awaited off-road extravaganzas. To mark the occasion, a fresh new logo was unveiled with an image of the Scorpio splashing through mud, implying unlimited potential for fun. An exciting new Great Escape website was also launched, enabling customers to enroll themselves for future editions online.
