Quite similar to the 57, the Maybach 62 was also one of the first models to be launched in the market as an alternative to the Rolls Royce and Bentley cars. The Maybach 62 is primarily made as a chauffer driven vehicle and the number 62 signifies the length of the car in decimeters. The Maybach 62 is one notch above the 57 and includes enhanced premium luxury features apart from the ones which are present in the 57 like full reclining seats, AirMatic dual control air suspension, folding rear tables, display instruments on the rear roof liner etc.
Apart from this the Maybach 62 also boasts of additional features cockpit management, CD changer in rear seats, navigation system, LCD TV units for the rear seat passenger etc. Besides these standard features and equipments, there are loads of customizable equipments and 
features which can be loaded or installed in the Maybach 62. Features like an external communication system and a sun roof with panoramic view are some of the things that can be customized onto the Maybach 62 with consummate ease, presenting further luxurious and stylish driving and ownership experience. The Maybach 62 sports engine which is similar to the 57.
Its got a 5.5 liter twin turbo charged V12 engine under it hood which generates a massive 540 hp. Combined with the 57, the Maybach 62 have been launched as a direct competition to the Rolls Royce and Bentley cars and to an extent have been able to dent a major market share of these two vehicles. The Maybach 62 because of its performance and enhanced premium offering has been able to carve out a niche for itself in the premium super luxury segment, which is quite a remarkable achievement, given that the models have been launched as recently as the year 2002.
Post the success of the 57 and the Maybach 62, new models and upgraded versions and special edition versions are in the process of being launched. All these special edition versions will be launched on the 57 and 62 platforms and will look to further enhance its market share with multiple product options for the buyers.
