The diesel dream
Tata SierraBeing the largest automobile manufacturer of India Tata Motors have managed to make a mark on the automobile market more than one time. Recently however the company has sent ripples in the market with the release of the Tata Sierra. The company has come a long considering the fact that it was once considered to be just a commercial vehicles producer. The company began to test its expertise on developing passenger vehicles and received overwhelming success with the launch of its first ever attempt at passenger vehicles with the Sierra.

Traditionally it has been noticed that many people deter from putting their hands on a diesel engine car. The reasons behind this are many such as the conception that diesel engines are not that durable and require a high level of maintenance etc. With the Sierra however Tata Motors managed to cause a shift in the other wise static perception of the public. Although the car was nothing extra ordinary in terms of exterior design it serves great utility.

One thing that set the Sierra apart from other cars was that it could be used for dual purposes. This meant that the car was a good enough ride for off road trips and sleek enough to maneuver within the city streets. Ordinarily though such dual functionality is a rare find in one vehicle and you would either have a car that is completely for off road purposes or one that is ideal for the city streets. Breaking the barrier the Tata Sierra took the market by storm.

Taking a look at the specs of the car you will find that the Tata Sierra is fitted with a 2.0 liter 4 cylinders in line 483 DL turbo engine. This mean machine can generate a power of 90 PS at 4300 rpm and a maximum torque of 19Kgm at 2500 rpm. The fact that the Sierra is loaded with this gem of an engine under its hood made it one of the most powerful vehicles in its size. To add to the brilliance of the car it was embedded with a proper braking system that made sure the car came to a proper halt when and if the need be. The inside of the car is quite spacious providing you with adequate comfort. It also comes with a host of other features that accentuate the comfort factor of the car. These include a power steering, central locking and power windows. On top of all of this the car is highly fuel efficient and has a huge tank capacity of about 65 liters.
