Volkswagen Caravelle Review
Whenever a person hears the name Volkswagen the first thing that is sure to come to his mind is great cars. Volkswagen has years of experience in the business and has provided car lovers from across the globe with some of the best cars in the world. The company has off late come out with several models that belong to the Multi Purpose Vehicle [MPV] group. The Volkswagen Caravelle is one such MPV that has been launched into the market by the automobile major and has been liked by many people since its launch into the market.
The Volkswagen Caravelle can provide comfortable seating for seven people. Apart from this, the van has been provided with a great amount of space and people can easily use the space to stash in as many things they want while going on a ride in it. The seats in the middle and rear can be folded and slid across the length of the compartment in the rear of the van to accommodate any extra thing luggage that you may want to carry in the van. The middle seats in the car are foldable just like the rear seats and one can even rotate the middle seats to a position facing the rear seats.
Although the Volkswagen Caravelle has many advantages owing to its large size it is not without its fair share of disadvantages. Owing to its size it may become tough for drivers to maneuver the Volkswagen Caravelle through tight turns. Also one may have trouble finding space for it in a parking lot but apart from these problems, the Caravelle does not have much of a problem.
The van is equipped with a powerful five cylinder, 2400 cc, turbo engine that delivers a power of 172 bhp and a maximum torque of 295 lb-ft. There are also talks of a petrol version of the Volkswagen Caravelle being released soon. The van also offers an impressive top speed of 117 mph, which seems to be too good for a car of its size. It has been observed that one can expect to have a mileage of 40 miles per gallon from the van. The van is best suited for travels covering very large distances and even at great speeds the van dos not produce much noise which adds to its advantage. However, these features can only be obtained while driving on the normal roads. Taking a spin on the Volkswagen Caravelle on country roads will not be very comfortable.
There are also some disadvantages with the Volkswagen Caravelle but they are not of a very grave nature. It has been seen that the sliding doors on the sides of the van is very heavy and one may have trouble locking it at the very first attempt. It has also been noticed that the tailgate in the Volkswagen Caravelle when opened blocks the vision of the things behind it. But these disadvantages definitely do not take away the credibility of the Caravelle and though deemed expensive is worth every single penny.
