I know you have a question i have an activated iPhone and i can download free & paid applications for Apple App Store then why i should go for jailbreaking my iPhone? Here is the answer Apple’s rules for AppStore are way too limiting. The apps listed in the sections below are not possible to be in AppStore since they break one or more of Apple’s rules. These Application breaks rules of Apple like these applications requires to patch system files, allowing apps to run in the background, running apps out of the “sandbox”, and simply doing things Apple decided that they don’t want you to do often for reasons to their benefit, not yours such as tethering and WiFi limitations for Skype, Sling Player and more. Before getting started let me clear one thing Everything that works before jailbreaking continues to work after. Jailbreaking only adds features. Jailbreaking is risk free and cannot void your warranty. You can simply restore in iTunes at anytime to get back to a factory state.

• Reason 1 Winterboard + Customization : Winterboard is the modified version of Springboard and it allows you to theme your iPhone like below. You can download and install hundreds of free themes available in Cydia.

• Reason 2 sbSettings : sbSettings is one of my favorite application it allows quick access to system toggles.  For example you swipe your finger across the clock on the top of the screen and a pull down appears allowing you to turn on/off wifi, 3g, edge, ssh, airplane mode, or even hide and show icons on the SpringBoard.

• Reason 3 Tethering : This is the strongest reason you can’t ignore tethering PDANet is a simple GUI based appllication which allows you to use your iPhone as a modem you can run internet through your Edge or 3G connection over the WiFi and USB. At the moment USB GUI is available for windows only but you can use  it over Mac with WiFi.

• Reason 4 WiFi Restrictions : Apple released Skype, Fring, SipPhone like VOiP applications but they make a restriction also they limited these applications to WiFi only means you can use these applications only when you are connected to WiFi. Thanx to Cydia and Tricker ThreeG to make us possible to run these applications on EDGE or 3G network. Check screenshots given below where i m making a call from Skype and Fring while i m on EDGE not WiFi.

• Reason 5 Dock: Wanna make your iPhone interface more interesting use Dock application available in cydia. Just install dock and swipe your finger from the bottom right corner to upwards and enjoy the dock.
