Wet iPhone Solution with Free iPhone Replacement

June 11, 2009 by Amit Bhawani

Wondering whats the next step when your Apple iPhone gets wet? There are many cases where in iphone owners have dropped their iPhones in the water sinks, bath tubs, toilet or on a wet road. Even bad while you are having a lot of precaution still the bad weather full of moisture can get your iphone steamy. Here is a quick solution for all of these. First of all once your find that the water level is excess and if you feel that this can make your phone dead, shake it heavily towards left and right to remove all the water from the external surface and then clean it with a cotton cloth.

Then take the handset and keep it within a box full of rice, as shown in the picture below, but make sure you fill the box with lot more rice because it generally takes away the most moisture from the iphone. This way you can expect the handset to be dry from inside too and its safer to start it later. Then remove the iPhone from this rice box after a hours time and then keep it in a place where the air is quite dry for a few hours to ensure that the most water would have been evaporated and its dry for sure. Then switch ON the iPhone and check out if its working.

If none of these things work the only option left out for you would be to contact the nearest iPhone team where you need to shell out 199$ for a replacement handset without a new contract and continue with the same version new handset. This is under the wet iPhone replacement plan with the phones (new/refurbished, and fully operating) would cost only $199.
