It is so cool awesome to hide files and folders from the prying eyes of people who want to know your secrets kept in your file, if you are using the computer with all your family members and friends. Here are some tips to do the same that is hiding your files and folders.
There are two ways to do it. One is buying a special program for cash for this purpose only or using the rudimentary way. Folder lock is one such program, it is easy and secure.

Folder lock is a file encryption software that protects folders, USB drives and it works on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 2000. After instillation all you have to do is add all your files and folders you want to protect and click encrypt key and then the protect key and lock using a secure password. So one else can view your files and folders. To open you should use the same password and unlock the files and folders. you can get it here

The rudimentary way is hide your file and folder in a place where your family and friends will not search for. If the other users are computer freaks or geeks it may be difficult to hide the files and folders.
There is yet another way in Windows XP and Vista. There is an option in the windows which gives an option to hide or show the file. All you should do is open my computer and click the tools it gives 4 options ,the 4th one is folder options click it and the folder option opens out, then click the view tab and choose the button which says “Do not show the hidden files and folders” . Click Apply and Ok tabs if it is not the default setting, most of the time it is a default setting.

Once you have done the setting go to the folder which you want to hide, right click on it and choose properties, it opens out as secret properties tick the hidden attributes and click OK tab, now the folder is hidden. To view the hidden folder easily you have to name the file in the following manner. For example it is exel document then save the files to the hidden folder by typing C:\program files\secret\filename.doc and click save.
