TedxHitechCity Session 1 Bharatanatyam by Smitha Madhav

Finally after a long wait, the TedxHitechCity event has started at 09:20Am , which is around 20mins behind the schedule. The first Session is based on Earth which was scheduled at 9:00 – 10:45Am with Smitha Madhav, Kanna, Balasubramanian, Mujeeb, Sarath Guttikunda.

The event started with a Introduction to the TED Conferences and how these started with the beginning of TedTalks in different countries. This was a video cast running on the projector screen for 5minutes followed by a excellent performance by Smitha Madhav[Dance] which are based on Indian Gods. She started the session with a excellent mythological story on Indian Gods which revolves around the dance she is going to perform. This was a excellent Classical Dance performance which should not be missed.

Smitha MadhavSmitha Madhav is a gifted singer and dancer. She is a fine danseuse with several solo performances and ballets to her credit. She has a melodious voice coupled with tremendous depth and expression. Smitha has given numerous performances in music and dance recitals in India and abroad. In addition to being trained as a performer by her distinguished Gurus, Smitha has also sought to acquire a strong theoretical foundation in Bharatanatyam dance and Carnatic Music.

    Some how I am not very impressed. She would have practiced more. Her concentration is more on lighting and behind the stage rather than on dance. She need to improve and practice more to reach expectations.
