Many marketers would recommend this idea in order to increase their traffic because its not only cost effective but also helps you in getting excellent traffic and brand awareness. I will give you a idea on this by giving a real life example.

Recently a friend, started a franchise business and was looking for promoting his products online and also getting people to know about his brand which is when i recommended him advertising in Google Adwords & also by going for few sponsored blog reviews with well known blogs which can send him some traffic too. When he tried to contact few bloggers they quoted a minimum of 25$ charge per review and also didnt guarantee a link and also a real good review. Anyway my friend still tried out buying few reviews to see how to works out and most of the reviews were dull and the bloggers didnt promote these paid posts which gave me a idea on going in a different way.

I told him to get in touch with a Custom Designing T-Shirts company which sells a Tee for 4$ when you order a minimum of 100 T-Shirts in bulk. Now the total cost would be around 400$ for him. Along with this i told him to start a page on his website where it was written that recommend three of your friends to signup for their service, blog about this and you get a guaranteed T-Shirt for free of cost. Now with a very less promotion this campaign went rocking with more than 100 bloggers signing up for this and since this was in a chain they would even recommend their friends to signup for the service and grab a free Tee.

Each Blogger would blog about the amazing service, the free T-Shirt and also refer 3 more friends, which would overall cost my friend not more than 4$ per review. Isn’t it amazing that the same guys who were charging 25-200$ per review now did the same stuff for 4$ and also promoted these blog post reviews on facebook, stumbleupon & twitter to get referrals. This can give you a idea on how to approach and get things done which would normally cost you hundreds of $ and still would have given a boring result.

Bloggers can also opt for this strategy by implement ideas like Offering Free Domain Names, Free Hosting Accounts, Free Mouse Pads, Free eBooks etc which can create a buzz in the blogosphere and give a special boost in the whole blogging world. If you are a Flickr User and are bored uploading your photos one by one or in mini batches then checkout the Flickr desktop uploader which is a nice handy tool for all Flickr users. Even if you are a free member of Flickr still you can use this feature and upload upto 102.4Mb of Photos every month and if you are a Pro member you can upload unlimited photos.

The Desktop Uploader tool can be downloaded from here and you need to select the right version because Flickr offers you with both Windows[Exe] & Mac[Dmg] based versions. The tool once installed and run asks you to authorize your application in order to get full access to run from the desktop and once this is done you will have the option to upload your photos along with giving them Names, Descriptions, Tags, Creating Sets etc all from the Desktop Uploader tool.

Why i use Flickr & not my own website for hosting my Images?
Even though i own my own web servers and have hundreds of domain names where i can create excellent photo galleries, Flickr is one of the site which is the best for hosting your photos for life and the cost is really minimal which is just around 2$/month. Iam sure the memories stored in your photos is worth a lot more than this and which is the reason i opted for Flickr. Also you have option to hide your photos from Public and keep them private which means that you can select and show only the photos which everyone can see and other ones are stored in your account for only your view.

You can also run multiple accounts through this Application and easily upload your images. While one set of your photos are being uploaded you can start another Batch upload which is started the moment previous set is uploaded.

Once all the photos are uploaded you get a message to Stay there on the Application itself or move to the Flickr in order to Organize your Photos.

How to Transfer or Push Domain in Godaddy for Free

Many people keep asking me on how to transfer their domain name which was registered through Godaddy.com to someone’s account in case they have sold it or given on lease. The answer for this would be that the new owner needs to create to have a account with godaddy.com or else they need to create one before they start the domain name transfer. The service is mostly free with most domain name registrars when the transfer is within the same registrar but if you are transfering to another registrar you need to pay a years registration fees as transfer charges.

If you are a Godaddy.com account holder then you have a option to freely transfer a domain name to another godaddy user, which is also called as a Push, since you are just pushing the domain name to someone else. In order to complete this transaction you need to login to your User Account at Godaddy.com and find the domain name listed under Domains > Management & Renewals > My Domains.

This window is called as the Domain Manager where all the domain names owned by you are listed in Alphabetical Order. Click on the Domain which you are willing to transfer to another Godaddy user, after which detailed information about the domain name will appear with a option in the top named as ‘Account Change’. Click on it and you will be asked with the following details in 4 steps.

First Step – Initiate Account Change
Under this step you will have to enter the new owners details.
New registrant’s Customer # or login name
New registrant’s email address
Domain’s contact information – Here you can keep your contact information or else the new owners details.

Once you enter all the information correctly, it will be validated and you will directly have to move to Step4 after which you will get a message of ‘Your changes have been submitted. Please allow a few minutes for the changes to take effect.’ and the other party will get a email regarding this domain name transfer.

Note : You need to make sure you have Unlocked the domain name before the transfer is proceeded, because if its Locked you wont be able to transfer it. Once the transfer is started you will find the Domain Status to be changed to ‘Changing Accounts’.

The new owner of the domain name would get a email with ‘Change of Registrant Pending’ information where he has to login to his Godaddy account and under the ‘My Account’ section, click on ‘Pending Account Changes’ > ‘Incoming Account Changes’ > Quick Accept > Accept Agreements. With this procedure they would see the domain name would be in their account with all the services attached to it.

How to Cancel Godaddy Private Domain Registration & Save Money

Whenever you register a domain name with Godaddy.com you are asked for Private Domain Registration which offcourse is mostly a free service. All new & current customers get free private registration service using which they can hide all their private information, though i personally avoid this act because when your contact information is not available , you may lose a client or opportunity who may check for the whois ownership of your domain name in order to contact you with a great offer, though people still opt for Private Registration in order to stay private.

Did you know that when you register a domain, your name, address, email address and phone number are immediately made available to anyone who wants to see them? That’s right. Your personal information is exposed 24 hours a day, everyday, to anyone, anywhere.

You have the power to change this. With a private (”unlisted”) registration through Domains By Proxy® (our affiliate company), registering a domain name doesn’t mean sacrificing your privacy.

Godaddy.com charges you almost the registration fees ie around 8-9$ per domain name every year while renewal which is a big amount to pay when you are having a big domain name portfolio and when you are holding the domains without running actual websites. I have more than 300 domain names in total, with many holded at Godaddy which means that i need to shell out lot of bucks while renewal because of the Private Registration service i opted while registration. Now the question arises, can i cancel this private option while the domain renewal time comes or not.

The answer to this question is yes, but you cannot directly cancel it on the renewal check out page, because the private registration is handled under DomainsByProxy.com where you need to login and manage the cancellation process. Under your domain name control panel in Godaddy you will find the Private Registration Icon which needs to be selected, redirecting to your control panel at Domains by Proxy.

After you cancel you will get a Item Cancellation Confirmation and you have saved around 7-8$ every year now on renewal because of this small setting. Godaddy does smart marketing by offering you with free stuff in the beginning and at renewal charging you double, and many people like me who have opted for automatic renewal would get charged through their Paypal Account on file with Godaddy.com
