Pros & Cons

MacBook Pro 15? Vs MacBook Pro 17?

Pros

The unibody – This makes the laptop look far better than the previous ones. A single piece of thin aluminum that makes the Macbook Pro look neater, and stronger.

Automatic graphic switching – This is a battery saver, time saver and an ultimate feature. You won’t need to keep optimizing the graphics and brightness, its done automatically.

Battery life – The new battery got bigger, and has a life that can help you use the laptop wirelessly for long hours, at least for 7-8 hours at normal usage.

Simple and thin design – Am an Apple fanboy, so bound to appreciate every design. But this Macbook Pro has the design that really deserves the appreciation. Beautifully done and compact packed.

Cooler and quite – The polycarbonate bodies are normal and blending the temperature of the surroundings, but the Macbook Pro with aluminum body is normally cooler in touch, and rarely makes the heavy buzzing sounds when it gets heated up.

Cons

Expensive – Not everyone can afford buying it, except for those who feel the need of an Apple laptop with heavy specifications. I would rather go for any Windows alternative like Sony Vaio or Dell with similar specs and install Mac OS in it, if needed.

Non-removable battery – All the unibody laptops have got this disadvantage. You can’t replace the battery by yourself.

No memory card slot – When Apple is providing so many slots and sockets, they should have considered including a Memory card slot, for easier transfer for photos from cameras, or other devices. Why do we need to buy all the accessories separately and pay a big sum already for the Mac?

Heating up – As mentioned earlier, the non-rubber aluminum base gets heated up to an extent that your laps can’t bear it. It doesn’t happen always, but when its hot there is no other option than leaving the Pro switched off or at sleep.

When Nokia announced its entry into the laptop market, it seemed to be a crazy news or Nokia was just trying to get some good business there with the fame of their mobile market domination. This seemed to be true until the Nokia Booklet 3G was actually released into the market.

The design is superb, single bodied structure resembling the unibody aluminum MacBook, with curved edges and glossy top with a central simple-as-always logo of Nokia. It seems that Nokia has tried not to experiment much and throw in more ideas on the design, which is the best part now as one would want a design not better than this one. The glossy surface although easily gets covered with the dust, marks and fingerprints but it won’t be very painful to wipe it off with a soft cloth. Its not just the compact and simple design that gives the resemblance to MacBook, but the Booklet 3G is also made of aluminum.

The screen can be opened wide, to make the laptop totally horizontal, i.e. it can be opened to almost 180 degrees. A pretty advantageous and comfortable option! The laptop isn’t too heavy, and its just 0.78″ thick, when closed although it has 16-cell battery in the bottom. The left side pane has 2 USB slots, an HDMI port, 3.5 mm headphone jack and the right side has the SIM and Memory card slots, along with a USB port. There is no ethernet port, but one has to compromise with a few options when talking about the small design and compact structure.

Talking about the screen, the quality and resolution of the 10.1″ is pretty good and when compared to those of Asus EEE PCs, and HP Netbooks (HP 1001 Mini), we call this a winner. The brightness in here is not forced as what we see in many small-screened netbooks. It won’t hurt the eyes, although you use it for hours in a dark place. The keyboard, is not pretty much impressive where one of the couple things could make it better – The keys should have been bigger, covering the gaps between the keys (there is seriously no need for the gaps), or else Nokia should have considered extending the keys to the end of the board. The right portion of the keyboard looks too clustered, where getting hands onto there is not easy if you are an avid user of Sony, Dell or Apple laptops. The trackpad is well made, with single-touch sensing unit and hard click bottons below the pad.

The webcam is there enough for any video chats, but clicking pictures won’t give you high quality pics, so better keep it to just a simple webcam with no big expectations.

Conclusion:
A sleek, beautifully packed launch by Nokia. The looks are impressive, and the size that can fit into small bag and carry along anywhere. With 3 USB ports, it can help you in carrying out multiple external port connections well. Overall, a good entry by Nokia.

Note : Nokia has sent us a Booklet 3G as a sample to test out the Netbook and share the actual experience with our readers.

You need to first of all make a list of all the hardware configuration based on the following table and find out what kind of Laptop you really need and then go forward with the search for the same. Based on this you can decide the ideal Laptop which you need to buy and invest your money into, and not directly go and buy a Apple Macbook Pro which costs more than 1,00,000Rs and which is not really something you really need.

This does make the whole Notebook look professional and a costly piece, with a illuminated HP Logo on the Laptops Top, something which is normally seen on all the Apple MacBooks. The Notebook sides are perfectly ordered with different media connectivity options. Here is a list of all the Expansion Features this Laptop offers. The only part i didn’t like about this Laptop is the weight which is around 3.52kgs [7.76 lbs], hence i cannot use this while am on traveling but can be perfectly used a Desktop Replacement Laptop.

Memory, Processor & Storage : The HP Dv7 3080CA comes with 6GB DDR3 System Memory with another 1Gb Dedicated Graphics Memory which is one of the main reason i have purchased this notebook. A total of 7Gb Ram along with Intel Core i7 Processor would mean a complete Gaming Computer at a single location. The Laptop comes with 500Gb SATA 7200RPM Hard Disk Drive which could allow to store a lot of data in the form of movies, music and more. It does support upto 8Gb DDR3 Ram but comes with 6Gb as default and can be upgraded anytime. These days most Laptops have a Dual Core or Core 2 Duo Processor which would mean that there are 2 cores of processors running, but with the revolutionary Core i7 Processor from Intel, the computer processes 7 times faster. The i7 Processor, 6Gb Ram & 1Gb Graphics Memory are the main reasons i went ahead purchasing this Laptop along with a 17.3″ Screen which displays everything ultra clear.

Input : The Laptop has a full sized 101-key compatible with full size keyboard with integrated numeric keypad along with a Touch Pad with On/Off button and dedicated vertical scroll Up/Down pad. The Dv7 also comes with a HP Mobile Remote Control for Media Center quick access to Entertainment.

External Ports :

4 Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0, 4th port shared with eSATA

2 Headphone out

1 microphone-in

If you think the Sony Digital Book or Amazon Kindle which cost around 20000Rs is a big investment because at this price you can buy mini laptops which offer you with everything, but iam sure they wont be able to offer you the handy small sized ebook reader functionality because you can travel with these easily and also carry while you moving around easily. In order to overcome this cost issues and still settle for a eBook reader, check out the JetBook Lite reader which costs around 150$ ie one third of the Kindle price and offers almost the same features.

Jetbook Lite eBook Reader

If you go with the looks, Amazon Kindle surely rocks which is why its leading this Readers market, but if you are compromising with the prices, you should also compromize with the looks. The JetBook Lite is a product of ECTACO which is their second eBook reader in the market and one of the main reason why this product is cheap that it does not have any inbuilt battery backup but uses AA batteries to power up the reader, which means that whenever you add new batteries they would run for 23 hours continiously without wearing out. This can be a cool option because its easy to buy AA batteries or else recharge them and is cost effective too.

The best part is that the JetBook Lite supports many file formats including the PDF files which can be easily transferred using SD cards as there is no wireless connectivity option , giving the techies a boring way to connect and transfer stuff. Overall a cheaper alternative to the Amazon Kindle in terms of price and decent features.

This is an era of science and technology which has gifted the mankind with lots of things and computers are the most remarkable among them. However while mentioning computers, there are plenty of laptop models available in the market and due this intense competition the choice of opting a good laptop at affordable price specially for college going students has become very cumbersome. So for choosing a laptop package for a college student we should know what actually a student should expect from his laptop when he decides to buy one. First of all it should be light and comfortable to handle so that the laptop can be moved easily from one class to another. The laptop should be very sturdy and tough to withstand some amount of stresses and the battery life should be great and the laptop should give high performance at real affordable prices.

HP Mini Laptop College Students

Laptops within budget
For most of the college students who really needs a laptop, the price is given if not primary but considerable importance. Some of the laptops within a students budget include thise from Dell, Toshiba and HP. The Toshiba Satellite A215-S4747 is good within this category. You get a dual core processor from AMD, which performs well for most applications. U get an in built Hard disk of storage space of about 200GB, sufficient for a student. It also includes fair number of peripheral ports. One more such laptop is the Sony VGN-NR160E/S model. It gives u Intel core 2 duo T5250 processor, 1GB of DRAM and a storage capacity of 160GB. All this in a very affordable pricing.

Light and slim laptops
If the preference is of powerful laptop rather than weight, go for thin and light laptops. Some of the good laptops in this range includes Sony VAIO VGN-FZ280E providing Intel core 2 duo CPU ,2GB RAM and 250GB harddisk with bluray writer. Another model is HP Pavillion dv6675us giving same feature as above but 4GB RAM.

Ultraportable Laptops
If preference is compactness go for ultraportable laptops. Some of the best among them are Lenovo Thinkpad X61 weighing 3 pounds, extremely portable, Intel core 2 duo processor, 100GB hard disk and 2GB RAM with no DVD drive in-built. Another laptop is Toshiba Portege R500-S5001X weighing 2.4pounds with an inch thick, one of the thinnest reasonably priced laptops in the market.

The laptop is, without a speck of doubt, the most highly evolved complicated species of the genre called computer that acts in the role of a more or less mobile office and also crudely speaking, as a personal entertainment source. Features of a laptop for instance its portability and quality performance makes it quintessential device in the lives of thousands of people across various facets in the society. A notable point at the present context is that the least expensive laptops are also smart enough to easily manage a person’s day to day work routine.

New Laptop Notebooks

If a person is inquisitive about how to buy a laptop, there are certain important advices and suggestions that he must keep in his mind. Before purchasing a laptop, the person should be well aware of its primary purpose. If it is centered around a few word presentations and spreadsheets and mailing then a decent netbook would serve him more than enough. But one must know that a netbook does not have an optical drive or much option for expanding hard disk space.

Desktop Replacement Laptops
Touch Screen Laptops
Tablet PC
Best Buy Laptops

Apple Latest Macbooks

The factors that are to be considered are installed memory and the strength of the processor. The performance of the laptop is directly proportional to the capacity of the installed memory in it. Laptops with a RAM of 2GB are quite optimal. Moreover, it is important to get the work done within a stipulated time frame. For this, processors like Core 2 Duo and Dual Core are fine options.

Also, the screen size is a significant feature to be addressed. The larger the laptop’s screen, the higher is the level of maximum resolution, and resultantly more is the information a person can view. Laptops with 16 inch screens are able to offer a more or less ideal resolution.

Other factors to be considered in this regards are the size of the hard drive for managing storage of huge database, and prevalence of optical drives in the system to make it more flexible in its operation. The cost factor is obviously another point to be kept in mind.

If a person goes through the above points before buying a laptop, he can be rest assured to land up with a nice machine.

Couple months back i was looking to purchase a Netbook which would be useful for me while iam on travelling and which would be at a lower end, something which is quite better than my Apple iPhone and would not be as bulky as my Sony Vaio Laptop or the Apple Macbook, which is when i decided to go for a Mini Netbook from HP Compaq and Chetan Bhawani had already blogged about this last month.

Hp Mini 1001 Netbook

Why did i buy a Netbook over a Notebook?
Netbook is something which is far more superior than a Smart Mobile Phone and which is lower in features, price & specifications than normal notebooks. You cannot expect high performance or hardware in Netbooks because these are small computers with small display screens. The battery life is quite better than Notebooks because these devices are having smaller screens and processors to run. Not only this you cannot use a bulky Notebook while you are travelling say on a flight because the normal laptops are generally 2-3Kgs in total and these Netbooks would range in around 1Kg weight which means its a big difference.

Mini 1001 Netbook Features :

The HP Mini 1001 Netbook is a Windows XP based Computer which comes preinstalled unlike other Netbooks which dont come with any Operating System installed and the buyers normally install Linux or a Pirated Version of Windows. The Hard Disk of this Tiny Laptop is quite huge at 60Gb Storage Space with a 1GB Ram which would mean that its a powerful device with a lot of HDD space. The Display Screen is of 9.2″ in total with the keyboard of small size, since the display is small you cannot expect a bigger keyboard. I personally felt that a small keyboard is not for everyone because iam habituated to the normal sized Notebook Keyboards and this small one is not really for me since i keep typing a lot of typos and the location of different keys is quite different and i had to make a note of all the locations of different keys on the keypad.

The HP Mini comes with a inbuilt Wi-Fi for high speed internet access and also with 2 USB Ports to connect with external drives, external CD player or external USB Data Cards. This is because this mini netbook does not have any CD Rom facility since its a small piece and we cannot expect everything in this and you can transfer files from another computer using the Bluetooth or Wifi Facility. One of the best Part is that you get a nice Webcam in this Netbook which is really a good feature for getting into Video Conference, Video Chats, Voice Calls etc while you are on travel allowing you to take quick snapsnots too. Overall these are some professional looking sleek netbooks which looks lot better than the Asus EEE PCs

Pricing of this Netbook :
We originally purchased 2 netbooks of the same model and got different quotes from different Laptop Stores ranging from 20500Rs to 22000Rs and i had paid 20500Rs for my Netbook. You can try out different stores to get the best deal around.

If you feel like your Adsense Daily Income is not growing then there can be some options in your hand which you need to work out rather than waiting for Google to pay you more per click. If you are a regular visitor of this blog you would have seen that i keep changing my Ad Unit sizes because offering the same size always makes your visitors go Ad Blind and there are chances of clicking on your advertisements which means that you can expect a lower Click Through Rate.

Generally Bloggers are in a view that Less Ads would mean that they would get paid more but thats not the case always, you need to find out the right ad unit for your blog because it depends on your designs and different experiments would give you the right results. Some of the most used ad units in decreasing order are –
336×280
300×250
728×90
250×250
160×600

Its recommended to avoid Image Ads on your Adsense Units if they are placed within the content because these can distract your visitors while they are reading your content and the Text ads would add them some resource because they are relevant to the stuff they are reading. The Link Ads should be placed on the Top Navigation Section not to make the visitors think that these are Navigation Links but to offer them with links which can be helpful to them while searching for something.

Example : If you have written a article on ‘Laptops Buying Guide‘ – The Adsense Link units would be the most clicked because there would be ads with different Laptop Selling Companies Brand Names listed like Dell, HP, Sony Vaio, Apple, Acer etc and based on the users selection they would click on these link units.

You need to try out using atleast 2 Text Ads Units & 2 Link Ad Units anytime you are running Google Adsense on your blogs because that can help you make the most of your Advertisements. The only problem with adding the maximum Ad units is that the high paying and lower paying ads are all displayed which can lead to overall less income and when you have 2+2 Ad Slots the highest paying ads are only displayed giving you a better eCPM.

If you are displaying Google Ads on the lower part of your website you can try out with the 728×15 or 468×15 Link Ads just around the Comments section or the Footer section because visitors would be exiting from your website and if link ads are shown there, you have more chances of getting Clicks. While showing advertisements within your blog posts using adsense plugins you should try out sizes like 468×60 Text Ads which display the Ad Title & Description but not the URL which means that the visitor would click on these in order to find out more.

Testing out with different Ad Units is the only suggestion which can be given because Adsense now offers you with options to create multiple channels, font sizes, font colors and also allows you to show randomly changing ad colours

Sony vaio has also entered the Netbook market with a really sleek and neat looking laptop named as the VAIO P series Netbook which is a bit costly at the moment costing around 900USD. Though Sony is a company which offers quality for which you need to pay a higher price always and when we made a comparision of best laptops , Sony Vaio Laptops were the highest rated ones which were recommended by more than 1100 users.

The netbook is really good for people who travel a lot, for bloggers or writers who want to start writing on a small device than handling a big laptop. This netbook is just 8″ with a LED backlit screen and 2.08:1 aspect ratio, giving 1600×768 pixel resolution along with a full keyboard for complete functioning.

The netbook is based on a 1.6Ghz CPU along with a decently sized 128Gb SSD for storing more data, which is quite good when compared to other netbooks from Asus Eee PC, MSI Wind, Dell Mini 9, Acer Aspire One and Lenovo S10 which start at just 4Gb storage. Comes preinstalled with Windows Vista, WiFi 802.11n, GPS and bluetooth which are the features normally available in other laptops.

I just made a renewal of my licence and recieved a free extra licence which i wont be using anyway on my computer and i would like to offer it for free to my readers. There are many antivirus softwares available on the web but i generally prefer Avg and Kaspersky because both of these are super quick in scanning and also they dont use any heavy system resources unlike norton antivirus which i really hate.

Did you check out the stylish Nokia Wireless keyboards which ready for use and have quick shortcuts which can make you use your mobile phone options very easily. If you a person who uses mobile phone heavily for business and are looking for something which can make your tasks get completed quicker, you should think about buying this wireless keyboard which works on bluetooth and costs around 150USD.

This does seem to be a overpriced keyboard because at the same additional cost you can upgrade your mobile phone to a office/business mobile phone which features a full keyboard like Sony Ericsson Xperia, but well a computer kind of keyboard is always the best when you need to enter in some big amount of data and dont want to carry your bulky laptops.

As you know there are multiple uses of cell phones which is the reason you are not just limited to making/recieving calls and hence you would opt for writing big documents, surf the web, use social networking sites like orkut, myspace on the go and would need to enter in big messages which would be hard typing on the tiny keys.

These keyboards are all compatible with most bluetooth enabled Nokia mobile phones like Nokia N series, Nokia 3230, 6260, 6600, 7610 series and you just need to activate your bluetooth to start using these wireless keyboards.

The device is very small sizing 5.2 by 3.4 by 0.5 inches and weighs a bit high because of the aluminium casing which helps for its longer life. You can easily close it when you are not using it. For installation, Nokia offers you with a Mini-MMC card which you need to insert into your hard set and install the application which can be found from the menu selections. You will be asked to install/save the application which is quite easy because of the wizard options and you can also check out the Help section if the installation seems hard.

Using the Power ON button which is available on the upper-right corner of your nokia keyboard you can easily activate it and the bluetooth icon would change to blue if its ready for pairing. This keyboard works on AAA batteries which can be used for around 50 hours of use in one time charge, hence its preferable to use rechargeable batteries.
