Acer turns out to launch the world’s cheapest laptops costing just 379$[16000Rs] with the current availability in US Laptop Markets only. These are some very limited edition kind of laptops with 1.6Ghz Intel processors and a very small sized screens which are of 8.9 inches and would offer 1024×600 pixels resolution and Windows XP or any Linux Operating systems support. The Acer Aspire One Laptops come with a 120Gb Hard Disk Drive which is a decent storage space but these low priced laptops are featured with just 512Mb RAM which is quite low as per todays requirements and 1Gb of RAM would have been better.
Other Important Specs of these cheap laptops includes a 3USB Port option, Web Camera, Ethernet, 5-in-1 card reader, battery backup of upto 7 hours which is quite amazing considering the price of these laptops and would be the best model for travellors who would consider a cheap, low weight, small sized laptop with a higher battery backup. Currently Eee PC is available in 3 different versions which are AOA110-1722, AOA150-1570 and AOA110-1566.

Thats a really nice launch from Acer, I feel this might a real good deal for Indians who keep looking a cheaper notebooks as a desktop replacement, this can be a real good competition for OLPC program, as this has far superior features than the OLPC configuration with a better and easy to user OS, XP for first time users.

A chair, lamp, hair blower, nut cracker, racket…etc (as shown here: http://www.amitbhawani.com/blog/unique-uses-of-laptop-computers/ ) will surely cost more than $379. So this makes the offer more attractive
. I wish it was available in India too.

Thoses Acer laptop are not Indians! They are English keyboards. (I have a Japaneese keyboard: Kohjinsha SR8 i paid a lot but has same size and weight with DVDR/RW 4X). Acer are goods and cheaps, because they don’t have DVDR optical also, no possibility to change sound or video cards, they are onboard. But for traveling, it’s perfect. The size and weight are marvelously dones…I will buy 2. One for my wife, the other for my girlfriend! Oh! I am on the moon…the other one for my father in law! Sorry for thet mistake…But some richs mans bought a dozen for 11 girlfriend, and 1 for the wife! It’s trough! Enjoy that UMPC Acer is very good and go with your wife and travel with this very good quality computer.
