The company has re-affirmed its presence and position with the launch of the latest addition to its largely successful line of malware products – Ad Aware Anniversary Edition. The company’s other classes of products are well received in the market. These are Ad Aware Free, Ad Aware Plus and Ad Aware Pro. So what is the fuss about Ad Aware Anniversary Edition?

The most notable change was the configuration of Ad Watch to become part of the entire application. This is to say that after you have installed the application, Ad Watch is activated automatically. Ad Watch is a component that scans your registry using heuristics, sending an alert when programs are likely to bring changes in the registry and blocking any marked systems. This is an advanced behavior based technology, where malicious programs can be detected even when they are well hidden. The Anniversary Edition has an automatic scan component which works alongside Web Update elements. It is redesigned in such a way that all the settings and buttons are in the open. This is to make ensure ease of work and an improved speed in creating auto-scan plans. The levels of scanning have also been increased to cover smart scan, profile scan and full scan.

Smart scan takes the shortest time mainly because only the most crucial areas are checked here. It works independently and does not rely on settings or other components. Profile scan chooses which specific areas to scan, mostly providing a list of all the scan settings for you to select the one(s) to be scanned. Full scan is the most comprehensive method of the three. It also takes the longest time because it involves carefully scanning all the programs, files and the registry. Once scanning is done, the results are given, along with detailed information about them. This information includes the number of viruses or other unwanted programs, possible origin of the virus and the damage already caused.

Ad Aware Anniversary Edition features some unique extras such as TrackSweep, whose mission is to clear spaces like caches, cookies and history, Process watch is another additional feature which provides all the information needed about a process. Autostart manager is responsible for loading all programs that are started together with their details. This edition also has a recovery application which restores wrongly deleted programs and systems which is quite something.
