Adsense adverts goes more classy, added features
Did you lately check out the Adsense ads which have got a complete new look & new features, check out the below screenshot for the new design.
The new ads format can give you a better CTR but again the “Ads by Google” has a different background colour which makes your websites visitors know about the adverts source, or may be this is another stunt by google to make it more brandable and make visitors know more about adsense publishers side 
Also the added features include
- where adsense sends you auto messages which includes tips for making more money via adsense.

- Also offering text adverts in adsense to get more publishers , where you can get more income by referring to visitors to join adsense publisher program.
- Google adsense now pays 5$ for every referral you send who joins google apps and registers a free email service and uses the service for upto 4 weeks, the referral income is a one time income and they can register with a new domain name only which is previously not registered with google apps.
From Inside Adsense – So how do these referrals work? Just visit the AdSense Setup tab in your AdSense account and click the link for Referrals. Select the Google Apps option and then choose how you want the referral ad to look on your site. (The Google Apps referral ads are available in English right now, but we’ll be adding more languages soon.) Copy the code provided into the design of your web pages, and voila!

[...] Selecting the Best Ad Format : Generally peoply try to use a lot of ad blocks next to one by one in a hope that this could lead to a higher CTR but at times this works on the other way and the visitor may just try to avoid that whole section. Instead of keeping two 250×250 ad blocks next to each other try to keep only 1 ad block on your page. Try to use both Linkads and blockads at the same time and try using different techniques and if possible try to change the ad colours/ block size regularly because this can attract the regular visitors and give them a fresh look. Yeah i saw these changes before..
but i have seen some sites where they have google ads but it doesnt say google ads, may be thats for premium high traffic sites
i wish i had ads like that
