Yahoo Mail :
Yahoo Mail LogoStill one of the favorites among experts, Yahoo! functions include the ability to file your incoming emails in different mail-boxes; such as , “work”, “friends”, family” etc. Yahoo! also offer a paid for service with personalized email addresses. Although a very user friendly service provide, one aspect of Yahoo! that falls down is the limited space it providers to users. That said, on the upside Yahoo Messenger more than make up for this minor limitation and so this service comes highly recommended.

Hotmail :
Hotmail LogoThe Grandfather of free email services, Hotmail today is overshadowed by the functions available by other free server email providers. However, as hotmail is now owned and operated by Microsoft, it does offer compatibility with other Microsoft products to users and so remains popular.

Gmail :
Gmail LogoThe new kid on the block, Google’s Gmail offers users an astonishing amount of space in which to store their emails. Which is just as well as it is virtually impossible to remove outgoing emails from your email box without having to delete the whole correspondence record, which may not be your intention. Identifying and boxing incoming emails on Gmail is not as user friendly as Yahoo!, but the fact that you can search you email box using the Google search function does make up for these minor shortcomings.

Whichever free email service you use, with competition in this area getting more intense up all the time, you can rest assured that each provider will be looking for new and innovative ways to try and entice you to open an email account with them. And keep in mind that while all of these email service providers may be relatively new businesses, all of the them now form part of very large internet based companies, so in all likelihood new players will join the foray sooner rather than later looking to break into this very competitive industry.

“Identifying and boxing incoming emails on Gmail is not as user friendly as Yahoo!”

Probably you dont know about the power of filters and labels in Gmail. Try them, you’ll never open ymail and hotmail again.

    1. Gmail is fast and secure(watch “https://” in gmail. ymail n hotmail are not)
    2. Gmail supports POP and IMAP so you can check your mails in your favourite email client like Thunderbird which yahoo doesn’t support(in india).
3.Gmail offers unlimited filters which yahoo limits to 15.
4.Gmail offers more space than any other.
    5.Gmail offers chat right away.

The use filters is what makes the Gmail more powerful (and more fun to use).

Google always comes with new ideas with every product they make, as in Google Chrome.

Come on guys give gmail a try and sure you’ll addict to it.
