Another cool site that is similar to LiveMocha is iTalki http://www.italki.com You can find tons of language learners on that site as well. I'm a member of both. I actually find italki cleaner and easier to use. Even become a teacher and make some money. Kind of like eBay for teaching a language.

Livemocha is a fantastic community of language learners indeed, and you surely meet a lot of interesting people; however I feel that when you really need someone to devote time to you, in the end you have to pay this person, as in general people will start not finding enough time to teach you and spend with you; we all have limited time in the end don't we? You can find people who will be willing to teach you or help you with your livemocha exercices on this new platform called http://www.lingworld.com . Teachers/Conversation partners will help you for very very low fees, and you can also meet nice people; but because you pay them (some of them less than 5$ an hour) you know they will give you 100% attention. And most of them have foreign language teaching qualifications. It can be a good complement to livemocha multimedia courses indeed...
