This is an era of science and technology which has gifted the mankind with lots of things and computers are the most remarkable among them. However while mentioning computers, there are plenty of laptop models available in the market and due this intense competition the choice of opting a good laptop at affordable price specially for college going students has become very cumbersome. So for choosing a laptop package for a college student we should know what actually a student should expect from his laptop when he decides to buy one. First of all it should be light and comfortable to handle so that the laptop can be moved easily from one class to another. The laptop should be very sturdy and tough to withstand some amount of stresses and the battery life should be great and the laptop should give high performance at real affordable prices.
Laptops within budget
For most of the college students who really needs a laptop, the price is given if not primary but considerable importance. Some of the laptops within a students budget include thise from Dell, Toshiba and HP. The Toshiba Satellite A215-S4747 is good within this category. You get a dual core processor from AMD, which performs well for most applications. U get an in built Hard disk of storage space of about 200GB, sufficient for a student. It also includes fair number of peripheral ports. One more such laptop is the Sony VGN-NR160E/S model. It gives u Intel core 2 duo T5250 processor, 1GB of DRAM and a storage capacity of 160GB. All this in a very affordable pricing.
Light and slim laptops
If the preference is of powerful laptop rather than weight, go for thin and light laptops. Some of the good laptops in this range includes Sony VAIO VGN-FZ280E providing Intel core 2 duo CPU ,2GB RAM and 250GB harddisk with bluray writer. Another model is HP Pavillion dv6675us giving same feature as above but 4GB RAM.
Ultraportable Laptops
If preference is compactness go for ultraportable laptops. Some of the best among them are Lenovo Thinkpad X61 weighing 3 pounds, extremely portable, Intel core 2 duo processor, 100GB hard disk and 2GB RAM with no DVD drive in-built. Another laptop is Toshiba Portege R500-S5001X weighing 2.4pounds with an inch thick, one of the thinnest reasonably priced laptops in the market.
