Blogging About Alexa Helps in Better Rank?

Published by Amit Bhawani on May 3rd, 2008 | 17 Comments

There was recently one wrong rumour going through different web blogs where in bloggers started blogging about Alexa Rankings but from my experiance i have never found this to be right, because even though Alexa is not a perfect traffic measurer but still you can get a clear idea of the traffic gaining / lost on a website/blog.

Last week i sold one of my website @ TheTopTheBest.com which was getting around 5000-10000 Uniques daily and Alexa ranks also moved towards the north because of the traffic gain, and now the new owner seems to be working on it. The site when i sold had a Alexa rank of 8,96,331 and at the time of the sale the website was getting huge traffic which is still the same and you can check out the the blog has got a Alexa rank of 57,719 rank. Now this rank is gained because of the increasing traffic.

The Top The Best

Here are some of the links of the links of the Blog posts which i was referring to in the first para , where in there were a lot of articles on Alexa posted in a belief that the Alexa rank would gain.

The best tweak in my view is just adding a Alexa Widget in your website in footer side in order to make the alexa image load whenever a visitor opens your website and the visitor is tracked hopefully, other than that posting about Alexa or its rankings would never help you out in gaining a better rank.

It was an experiment from my side, and my final answer is that alexa doesnt care about it. Writing about alexa doesn’t affect rankings.

No idea about the new algorithm but i can say that i have seen a increase in traffic which would be obviously visible in the alexa rank.

I’ve seen that if you blog or mention the alexa toolbar in blog posts, your rank can go up. Especially for sites that are in niches that don’t get many visitors with alexa installed. Blogging or mentioning it in a blog will put you on the radar of people who follow alexa and can get you a temporary boost in rankings as people who have the alexa toolbar installed come to check out your site.
