Get Backlinks when People Copy your Blog Content

Find Duplicate Content
Find Duplicate Content
Everyday many new bloggers start new blogs and without thinking twice they just copy others blog content which is a very bad issue and there are many less things you can do. We had previously written articles on how to copy protect your content and also the legal rules when your content is copied. But the biggest issue with all this is how to find when your blog content is copied and used on other blogs? Lets check out a new online service which is going to track down all the content ie text & images whenever copied from your blog.

This is not similar to the other Online Plagiarism checkers, because this one called as Tynt is seriously worth trying once. You need to sign up for a free account and add your blog in the account panel. Next you will find a option to upgrade to PRO for a limited period which is recommended to try out because you dont need to add CC nor do anything else for a PRO account. Next you need to add the code given under the Link Setup option before the BODY tag on your blog which will start tracking for all the duplicate content copies of your original content.

Next you need to wait for a few days for the crawler to crawl and give you a report like the following :

Total number of Copies Created through your original content in different formats.

total copies created
total copies created

Search Copies : This would be a total of Long Copies and Image Copies

search copies
search copies

Following this a report called as – Most Engaging Content (Top 20) would give you a list of all the URL’s of your blog along with the total number of copies generated & page views. The Top Images section would report you with all the Images copied from your website and used on other blogs though i really dont understand how the tracker would work if someone downloads the image and hosts on their own blog.

The final report gave me the following stats :
Tynt monitored: 52,533 page views 547 image copies 221,212 word copies
which seems to be quite wrong because i dont think there would be 221212 words copied from my blog in any case because Copyscape shows a smaller number of links which have copied my content and this number is something like my blog is totally copied 10 times or more. Wondering about the stats but anyway the service is quite good because it automatically adds a link back to your website when someone copies your content and pastes it on their blog. Try it out and you will know the advantages yourself.

Is it must to be paid to use the tool? Or the pro account is free?

No you can continue with the free account too, but the Pro account offers additional features and this is currently available as a free limited time upgrade to give a try.

Thanks Amit for the coverage of Tynt. I wanted to answer your question about the Words Copied number. This is the total ‘word count’ of the 2,922 copies that occurred. The 221, 212 number is the total number of words that were copied from your blog.

    I hope this helps!

    Derek from Tynt 🙂

Sometimes people copy content without reading article. They even don’t remove your backlinks. This is good way to get few backlinks from copiers. I will surely try this program.
