Canon EOS 30D Camera Review

The Canon EOS 30D replaces the hugely popular 20 D. Unlike 20 D it has better features like redesigned body, larger LCD monitor (2.5″),Soft-touch shutter release button, AE/AF lock ,Faster startup and wake from the sleeping times, Direct print button on rear of camera, Spot metering,100,000 shot shutter cycle, ISO selectable in third stop steps, ISO speed shown in viewfinder, picture Styles ,15 menu languages (3 new), CMOS sensor 5 fps and 30 large JPEG frame burst ,2.5”, 230K pixel, 170º wide viewing angle LCD screen, Digital Photo Professional RAW processing software, simultaneous RAW and JPEG recording facilities, Pict Bridge and complete compatibility with all canon EF and EF-S lenses and EX-series speedlites and lastly having Video Out connectivity .

The six pre-sets include: Standard, Portrait, Landscape, Neutral, Faithful and Monochrome. The User Defined pre-set can be used to store up to three customized pre-sets, or any of the pre-sets available for download from Canon’s web site.

Many improvements over the EOS 20D have been made .The incorporation of some advanced technologies have been done based on customer feedback. The latest Digital Photo Professional Raw Image processing software comes with the EOS 30D . The model also has an EOS Solution Disk, containing the new EOS Utility and the latest versions of Zoom Browser, Image Browser and Photo Stitch. In this model the processor is so fast that it can read, process, compress and write image data back to the buffer between exposures. This CMOS technology is a key competitive advantage that sets the model a part form others. The model, which also has CMOS sensors have reduced the noise generation and made the use of power consumption limited as compared to CCD sensors.

This camera model has digital Photo Professional software that provides high-speed processing of lossless RAW images. It allows real-time display and immediate application of image adjustments, giving control over RAW image variables such as white balance, dynamic range, exposure compensation and colour tone. The camera JPEG images can be recorded in sRGB or Adobe RGB colour space, and the Digital Photo Professional application supports sRGB, Adobe RGB and Wide Gamut RGB colour spaces.
