This is the latest in Canon’s affordable digital SLR series or the ten-mega pixel EOS 400d/Digital Rebel XTi.

The camera has the ten mega pixel CMOS sensor (up to ISO 1600), a new dust reduction system, nine area auto focus, Picture Styles, a large 2.5″ LCD monitor which now also provides shooting information (the second control panel LCD is gone) and better continuous shooting buffering.

Canon has ushered in new technology to change the digital SLR market since the last three years. They have announced the third generation of their affordable entry-level series, the EOS 400D(Digital Rebel) XTi. This new camera follows the design of the EOS 50D. In fact the he EOS 400D,S 10.1 Mega pixel sensor employs the same outstanding CMOS image quality. A Large bright LCD contains the super bright 2.5″ 230k pixel display – nearly twice the size of the EOS 350D. Photos feel crisper, richer and more saturated; while a 160° viewing angle makes for an easy and at-a-glance checking and sharing. It shoots at 3 fps for continuous bursts of up to 27 large JPEG images (10 RAW): like shooting a whole roll of film in a single burst.

The model which has the picture style preset has relevant features to change film mid-roll in order to achieve different color response and black & white effects. You can individually adjust the sharpness, contrast as well as color tone and saturation.

The Canon EOS 400 D also has high precision 9-point wide-area AF ,DIGIC II, Digital Photo Professional (DPP) software-provides high-speed RAW image processing, lightweight and compact durable casing that also keeps weight down to just 510 grams. Apart from this it also has EF lenses ,accessories ,EX-series Speedlite that are compatible and Connectivity-Video Out which allows TV screen review. Fast data transfer comes standard with USB 2.0 Hi-Speed.
