I instantly joined this service and got a account with disqus, and logged into the dashboard section where i found it to be pretty neat and simple which anyone can understand easily, though its currently in Beta.

First of all you will be asked to create your forum[yourforum.disqus.com] and the next step follows with the Integration of comment system with your blog which is normally allowed with Wordpress, Blogger[blogspot], TypePad & Movable Type.

I had selected the wordpress plugin option and i was offered a plugin to download and upload on my blog’s backend and needed to activate it, once thats done your forum is ready.

The forum is updated instantly with all your blog posts and your own blog gets a new comment submit form instead of your normal submit form which looks this way.

All the comments are instantly updated on the disqus forum and the replies are shown in a tree format, i guess you guys can give it a try but the main reason for trying would be only when you have a lot of comments on your blog and this system would help your visitors to stop commenting with “@” symbol. Overall Disqus commenting system adds threads, comment/user ratings, spam control, and user identities. The system can either replace all your comments (starting from nothing), or only be activated on new posts. If you find it’s not what you want, you can just deactivate the plugin to get back your old comments.

Solutions for the Problems Encountered while upgrading wordpress :

Upgrading Database Version
How do you force a database upgrade?

Under certain situations, it may be necessary to cause a database to pass through the upgrade process again. To do that, you need to lower the db_version value in the wp_options table that corresponds to the version you want to upgrade from. For instance, if you want to force the datebase upgrade that happens from 2.0.11 to 2.3 you would change your db_version to 3441. To force an upgrade from 2.2, 2.2.1, 2.2.2, or 2.2.3 to 2.3, change that value to 5183.

”’db_version”’ for WordPress releases:

2.3 = 6124
2.2.3 = 5183
2.2.x = 5183
2.2 = 5183
2.1.3 = 4773
2.1.x = 4773
2.1 = 4772
2.0.11 = 3441
2.0.x = 3441
2.0 = 3441
1.5.x = 2541
1.x = 2540

Note: Use phpMyAdmin to change that value, or use wp-admin/options.php.

Once the db_version is changed, when logging into your blog a link to upgrade the database will be offered.

wp_terms’ doesn’t exist ERROR upgrading to 2.3

Try running upgrade.php , if it does not work open your wp-admin page and you will find a option to upgrade the database, click on the upgrade button and it will fix the problem.

Still the Problem continues with categories

First of all disable all the plugins and try to activate one by one and keep checking if you get the problems again, i did the same and found that the plugin – Other Posts From Cat > At the bottom of every post, links are shown for the last X posts from the current category was giving the problem and i deactivated it until i find the plugin developer would release a better stable version
