If you think the Sony Digital Book or Amazon Kindle which cost around 20000Rs is a big investment because at this price you can buy mini laptops which offer you with everything, but iam sure they wont be able to offer you the handy small sized ebook reader functionality because you can travel with these easily and also carry while you moving around easily. In order to overcome this cost issues and still settle for a eBook reader, check out the JetBook Lite reader which costs around 150$ ie one third of the Kindle price and offers almost the same features.
If you go with the looks, Amazon Kindle surely rocks which is why its leading this Readers market, but if you are compromising with the prices, you should also compromize with the looks. The JetBook Lite is a product of ECTACO which is their second eBook reader in the market and one of the main reason why this product is cheap that it does not have any inbuilt battery backup but uses AA batteries to power up the reader, which means that whenever you add new batteries they would run for 23 hours continiously without wearing out. This can be a cool option because its easy to buy AA batteries or else recharge them and is cost effective too.The best part is that the JetBook Lite supports many file formats including the PDF files which can be easily transferred using SD cards as there is no wireless connectivity option , giving the techies a boring way to connect and transfer stuff. Overall a cheaper alternative to the Amazon Kindle in terms of price and decent features.

Sir,
Is it possible to buy the jetBook Lite here in India? How much will it cost and what will be the customs charges? Further, will it be possible to use the gadget here since we have different Volt of electricity being supplied compared to the USA. Finally, are AA batteries easily availlable?
