We had written a tutorial on writing a book with Wordpress which was actually a 15 steps long tutorial where you had to install a few different WordPress plugins and also different software’s being used for converting the files and designing book cover. In this article we are going to recommend you a better solution using which you can easily convert your blog content into an eBook and offer it as a download to your readers.
First of all you will have to download the Anthologize WordPress Plugin from here and then install the plugin in your WordPress Blog followed by activating it.
Features of Anthologize :
- Use your existing WordPress blog content as the basis for your project;
- Import content feeds from non-WordPress blogs and other publishing platforms;
- Create a project containing one or more parts (chapters, acts, etc);
- Add, update, remove, and reorder parts;
- Add, update, remove, reorder, and merge individual items in parts;
- Edit project items through standard WordPress editing interface;
- Export your projects to: TEI, PDF, and EPUB (as well as rudimentary RTF).
The job of this plugin is to grab your blog posts and then create a book which can be saved in multiple formats. Once the plugin is activated you will find a new option under the WordPress Dashboard with options of different projects. To get started click on New Project and then enter the
Author Name (optional)
Next click on the Manage Parts link which will display you a detailed page with all your blog content on the left and the right side section offering you the list of all the selected posts. Since we were going to create an eBook from a selected category, we selected the Filter by > Category option.
Finally click on the Export Project option which would ask you to select a few options for the Content Copyright. Once you have set the Copyright Holder Name, Type of Copyright, eBook edition, you will have to click on the Next button. You will be asked to enter some text for the Dedication & Acknowledgements section if you would like to dedicate the book to someone. The Publishing Options would ask you to select the type of format you would like to assign to your book along with the Page Size which is important for the visitors who would be printing the content of the eBook. Click on the ‘Export’ button to complete this process.
In order to import the content from another blog, then you should select the ‘Import Content’ option which would ask you to Enter the RSS Feed following which you can create an eBook with other blogs content too.
Note : We have tested this plugin on our Pregnancy Tips blog, following which a part of the health tips were given to our readers in the form of an eBook.
