Cancelling or Deleting a Gmail Account in 5 Quick Steps

Google Mail services offers a very quick and easy process in 5 steps to cancel your own Gmail account but i have added some graphical images in order to help you out with this.

Google’s process for Cancellation :

1. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
2. Open the Accounts tab.
3. Click Google Account settings.
4. Click Edit next to My services on the right side.
5. Click Delete Gmail Service.

The First step is to logging into your Gmail account and then clicking on the settings link which can be found in the top right corner of the screen.

Next you need to Click on the Accounts Tab under the settings menu and then click on the Google Account settings: Visit your Google Account settings to reset your password, change your security question, or learn about access to other google services. Section which will redirect you to a new page with all the Google products listed on a My Account Page.

On this new My Account page you will find a list of Google products which you are currently using and you need to click on the ‘Edit’ tab in order to continue.

The next page which opens would be Delete Google Service page where you have a option to delete your Gmail Services or Close your account and delete all the services and information associated with your account.

The most important point to be noted while doing this is that you cannot recover your account nor your information/data once your account has been deleted and you need to make sure you have taken backup of your google account and this is a General rule with most of the free email service providers and not just Gmail.
