Stop iAd access to Tracking Cookies & Location to show Revelant Ads

Apple iAds – The new revolution in the advertising industry is going to serve advertisements on all the Apple Mobile devices like the Apple iPhone, Apple iPad etc on most of the free applications with revenue share given to the App Developers.

The service by Apple is quite similar to Google Adsense where relevant advertisements would be shown based on your data cookies and the location you are currently in. Hence this could also mean that your privacy is breached and you are served ads without your consent. Another problem would be that since the ads are related to your location there are chances that kids using the device would be clicking more on these ads and unknowingly even end up with unknown websites or contacts. Hence its better to Prevent iAd from using your location and cookies data.

Start you iOS4 based Apple iPhone or iPod Touch and Tap on the Safari Browser.

Next type http://oo.apple.com and access the web page which would display a message saying you are Opted-Out and the oo in the URL represents the same.

Apple iPhone iOS4 Opt Out

This looks like the settings are going to make the device completely opt out from this but the services can be enabled back when you Delete cookies in safari browser.
