DishTV India a satellite TV service provider in india is currently advertising like hell online via adwords and offline via television ads, newspapers , pamplets etc but the main question continues is it worth the money you invest?

Personal review is that the customer service via phone is very bad because when i called them up for buying on i didnt get anyone online and had to hang up the phone since i could not wait for long. The better option than Dish TV Direct to home service is TATA Sky which offers a better customer service and packages.

“Sun” package should not be mandatory. Earlier the south packages cost the lowest but after “sun” package it become the costliest.
In “channel pick” the hindi entertainment channels should be introduced.

I am using DISH TV and it is really awesome… I think TATA and dish are same… other than pricing… I would really recommend DISH as they have very good service from installation to back end support
I am happy with them they provide me all channels we watch at the same CABLE wala price

I too use Dish TV .. i have few frds too using it .. but no one with Tata Sky… so i don’t know much about Tata.

I am using DISH TV.I would really recommend DISH as they have very good service from installation to back end support.
My connection is basic of telugu channels.But i am not getting the channels of sun network and dd for the cricket. Please provide me the dd and gemini channels in my package.

I m a user of tata sky & dish tv i have 2 flats in 1 flat i have tata sky % in one i have dish tv my openion is that every one who is confused between tata & dish i recommend TATA SKY more because tata has quality and more features then dish tv but dish tv has more channels then tata but tata add new channels as they reliese but dish tv not tata has only high rated channels tata custmer care service is much much much better then dish tv all n all tata is a latest sensation & dish is older i recommend GO $ TATA SKY.

dish tv is really bull shit.their services are worst.they should improve in terms of customerservices and send good technicians for installation.if they dont improve ,they will vanish completely from market as already there is negative talk about dish tv when compare to tatasky.

DishTV service is very bad, and their approach is un-professional… so i would suggest not to go with DishTV unless you know personally someone who can take care if anything goes wrong.. Reg TATASKY i dont have any experience so no comments…

DONT BUY DISH TV…. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE
STORY:
I shifted my house on 1st January 2008 and called on customer care for re-installation. They gave me on complain no and said that problem will be fixed with in 4 to 24 hours. I called them after 48 hours then executive told me “I AM SORRY FOR INCONVENIENCE”. for next 3 days (till 5th Morning) I called around 20 times. Sometimes they say sorry, sometimes sorry+ installation will be done till evening.
Now on 5th jan I got another complain no with same words that problem will be fixed with in 4 to 24 hours.
after 24 days I called them again they forwarded call to super wiser he gave one local service center number and told it will be fixed and u can talk on this number also. I called on that number executive told ” Sir your place is not under our area (phone got disconnected from her side)”. Now today is 7th Jan.
Can some one please suggest me how to resolve this problem.
I am very irritated now with their add “Don’t be SANTUSHT” as I am doing the same since 1st Jan.

Dish TV has a pretty bad TV Guide. You’ve got to see it to believe how bad it is. My cabel walla is ICC and their cable box has a better Guide. Maybe I shud have stayed with that!

don’t go for dish TV. I was one among cheated by a TL names manohar and Arun Nagi. and senior supervisors Saurab chaddha and ashish.
They all took my credit card amount and they ripped it up. at the end i didn’t get my money back. there a same agent will speak as team manager and supervisor.
Dish Tv a cheating, fraudsters company.

It looks like in South India, Dish Tv is a mess. the customer service is awkward. Even i too had some bad experience after a long fight its done. I have to spend much on phone calls since we can’t catch the call center guy in TOLL Free. As long as you got a package when you buy it, stick to it, if go for upgrade or house change then one can always expect a mess. better before 1 month of your house shifting better inform call centre.

Don’t go for Dishtv. If you face some problem with it, you have to wait for resolution for unlimited time. I guess customer satisfaction does not matter for them at all.When you buy Dish tv, you get irritation free with it.Call their customer service but don’t expect any reply.

im staying in bangalore and am planning to buy dish tv connection as my cable quality is very bad.. but after reading the comments i realized that dish tv is not a good option.. but the problem with tata sky is that out of 117 channels they provide, 53 are useless.. moreover the music channels , movie channels are lesser in number compared to dish tv….. what would u suggest

I faced a lot of problem with the Dish TV. The decoder gets bad after it is washed in rain for a month then replace it by calling them 10times..that will cost 500/- no warranty on Decoder.. I recently changed house still my Dish TV is lying on the floor.. they said u have to dismantle it then we’ll install..I took the pain of dismantling it.. but still no one has come to install it.. even if I’m ready to pay 250/- which they asked me for .. Service is too bad.. In contrast I had my landlord using tatasky.. they were at least prompter than Dish Guys…

I am having Dishtv connection,vc no: 01505517980. last month 20 I sent the smart card to Noida for replacement since the se was stil under gaurantee. they took 22 days. when replacedcard was incerted in the set check card. then I complained on 12th of this month and so far they have not rectified till today.when ever I conact customer service they say they they have forwarded the complaint departmant and they will attend to my complaint with in
34 to 48 hrs.so far nothing has happenned till today. when ever i contact them the same message is repeated. they gave a local number who does not answer the call.
can you pl expidate the repair immediatly

Hi Guys,
I really feel pity. you guys are wasting lot of money in Dish TV & TATA Sky. I will say onething. one of you guys make a replica of a working VC Card and put it in any Dish/TATA set top box (STB) you can watch all the channels without having to pay even a single paise for their crappy support. This is technically possible. but very few tried it.
There are places where you can replicate a working smart (VC) card and get a second’s STB and do a software update via PC to change the serial no’s and it will work, but the original VC has to be recharged regulary for any uninterrupted subscription.

I was the among those who bought tata sky as it launched,
I took it because I was in strong believe, it is trust worthy company, having corporate ethics & costumer care , but I was wrong & I had very awful experience with tata sky
No doubt it is having good clarity, but that’s the only thing they can offer…
1) When “sky” comes it says “tata” mean during rain the signal goes off
I’ had complained many times, the service people came but they were not able to solve the problem. It will be still the same in this monsoon.
2) They change the listed channel whenever they want, eg. They stop showing zee classic after a month. & promised, they will show again …. But not yet
I like to see black & white movies, but no channel to show it on tata sky
3) They are charging more money for additional channel like 9x, 9x movies & so on , but others shows it in same price, also putting additional price for game , wiz kid… (Additional price means more monthly budget, 300 rupees is quite big amounts)
4) there are many new channels which tata sky is not showing
So we are paying for clarity, but not for channels
Now I’m planning for dish TV … I hope I’ll get what I want in 300 rupees

Worst distribution network …
I am based guwahati and it is really difficult to find the coupons.
Most of the time it is out of stock .
I am living in geeta nagar and have 10 shops selling tata sky near my house and non selling DishTv coupons .
I have to go far of and search to get the coupons .
Finding it very uneasy…
Regretting my descision to buy DishTV.

Hi every one i will like to inform you all please never-9999-never go for dishtv. They think customers are idiots once they sell the connection their tensions ends and customers starts. Their dealers are too lawyer they give false comitments and dish tv customer care and other members from dish tv also helps them to do so. Here is the story what happened with me :- I got a new connection on 21/10/07 I was commited for One year subscription from Dealer whose name is Ankur Electricals Sec-18 Atta Market, Noida and the person on store is Mr. Vinay his mobile no is 9818972778 my Viewer card no is :-01504952143, A person who is the installation incharge Mr. Pandey and his mobile no is:-9891715300 also committed the same at the time of installation. They deactivated my connection on 21-04-08 and asking me to renew the subscription. I catched the deaer and area installation manager now they are saying we have given no such commitments. Also i am using their MAXI subscription 50% chanells are not received properly like StarOne, Sahara All channels, NDTV all channels, and many more. The customer care service is one of the worst service in the world they are only trained to say sorry they have to do nothing with the resolution. Once you install dish tv your bad days starts. One more important thing i will like to share the equipments you get on installation like SetTop Box, Antena, LNB and even the cable used to connect all are on advance rent of 3 yrs. What ever you get nothing is yours. You are bound to use their service. Please check in detail all the terms and condition on website and dont get cheated by dealers words untill you get every things in written. At last i will suggest say no to dishtv or similar services in india. I’m 80% sure that it’ll work in Australia. I’m using it on the other side of the globe( US ). As you said you have sources to provide you with the required materials, just buy a VC & you’re off to go.
I recommend DishTv. But check TataSky too.

when you say, at the time of purchase you have 1 year MAXI subscription. Then you must include it in your bill receipt, did you do that. what you have like warranty, type of connection and money paid and validity of subscription. you must include them all in the receipt then only you must pay the money. before that you must cross check everything with the customer care about what the dealer confirmed with you and check if everything is correct.

It is very reassuring to know that you are viewing Dish Tv in the US.
Quite recently I procured a receiver box from India prepaid for couple of months and brought it to Sydney, only to be told by two of the three technicians I have approached for installation that the signal is beamed to India and Sydney not being in the footprint would not be able to pick it up.
One of the techinicans even went to the extent of climing on my roof fixing the Dish and tried to pick up which he never could and showed me on the web that it was directed only to India.
Joe, it would help if you can let me know what frequency you are picking up this signal in the US and off what satelite ( I gather Dish beams of satellite NSS 6 on Ku band ) so I can then check if what you can pick up from can be done from Syd.

ONCE AGAIN - DO NOT BUY DISH TV UNLESS YOU HAVE A GUN AND A LICENSE TO KILL (SO YOU CAN SHOOT THE BUGGERS).
I read all the comments above and this one caught my eye as I have the same problem except for me its now 3 weeks of shouting, pleading, whatever.

I have reported a problem with my dish TV VC No. 01505294231 ( Mumbai, India) on 14th may 08. Till date they have not attended to my problem , inspite of making around 4-5 calls in a day. Since we do not have a luxury of time, we have no choice than to keep calling and hoping for their services. But all that i want to sincerely say is given a cahnce i would like to unsubscribe with this service provider . It is utterly disgusting to be a part of such unprofessional group. Having paid money, i am keep my patience. Else i would have thrown it into the sea.The services are handldled by cheap and low class local outlets, leading to this lelev of services. The only way you can imrove is to have the choice of professional services like TATA sky is doing in India. I Ma sure they are doing very fine and if i can get refund back from Dish TV i would immediately jump and cling to TATA services, which has covered the whole of our terrace. Mobile 09323621627

for Dish TV you have to call them several times, even in mid night. they will say supervisor not available on duty or went for lunch, you have to insist them.

I have pathetic experience with distv and will never ever recommend the same to any one.
Installation quality is poor.
customer care is horrible. Difficult to get the number, people are unprofessional.
If you have any problem u will have to consider weeks before the problem is resolved.
I have switched to TATA SKY and it rocks.
Pls. pls. dont go with DishTV

Hi… DishTV is the most pathetic customer care service one could ever come accross.
1.Toll free Call center numbers are always busy
2.Paid call center numbers put you through long waiting time before some one responds.
3.Once you could reach the call center executive he/she seeks so many information so you start regretting why you were so desparate to talk !
4.After explaining complete details, the call center executive puts you on hold and the call gets disconnected.
5.Keep on re-trying and same event will repeat for 10 times (believe me… it has happened with me)
6.11th time that call center guy told me that he is not able to fethc my account details on his computer so call back after 15 mins.
7.I also tried to login my complaint through their website which works fine when you renew your account and pay online, but once you fill in the complaint & press submit button … it just refuses to respond !!
8.Tried sending email to both the email ids mentioned above… no luck/response so far
9.My local dealer is an absolute cheat and hence i resorted to make payment online. (no help expected from him any more)
10.Accounting system is utmost clumsy and ambigious… inspite of making annual renewal it still says 3.22 Dr.
11.Annual renewal date is short of 5 months… god only knows why !!! (renewal date was originally 24 may 2008, i renewed it on 21 may 2008 and the next renewal date it shows is 21 Jan 2009) … whoof !!
I don’t know whom should i contact in such situation and regret my decision of buying DishTV more than ever now.
Dear Mr.Shahrukh khan, May be you can help me a little with this? if not..Please stop endorsing such crap DTH service.
