Many of us are now moving from Flickr to Picasa Web Albums because of the free space and better features like face finding and desktop syncing of photos. We have earlier written different articles on Transfer Photos from Flickr to Picasa & bulk downloading Flickr Photos which can help you in moving from the Flickr Photo Hosting Services.
In this article we will suggest you one useful WordPress Plugin, which allows you to add your Picasa Albums to your Blog’s sidebar using the advantage of the WordPress plugins which can be downloaded from here.
Features of Picasa Widget :
- Show the last n albums only as text (clickable titles).
- Show the last n albums using thumbnails.
- Show the last n pictures from the last m albums, randomly. If m is 1, than you will have randomly pictures from your last Picasa album.
Once the WordPress plugin is downloaded and activated, you can easily configure it through the Widgets section. The widget would ask you to Enter the ‘Widget Title’, Your Picasa Account username and the mode in which the widget would display the images like Random Images. Apart to this you can decide if you need a 2 column or 1 column widget in the sidebar along with the thumbnail size based on the number of columns.
Below is a small demo which shows you how the Widget would display on your blog once its setup perfectly.
