Display Recent Searches on Sidebar for Better Ranking in Search Engines

Most of the blogs have on an average of around 5000 to 10000 pages indexed in the Search Engines and if there is a way to increase this, the traffic would also increase to the next levels. Here is a nice trick which when implemented would start indexing all the pages which your visitors have created for you, by searching on your own blog.

Called as the Recent Searches Widget, this wordpress plugin gathers the data from the Wordpress backend in the form of all the searches your visitors would make. Then it would convert these into Search Engine indexable pages which can be linked easily and also which can be remembered by anyone.

Instead of the default search URL which has some codes in it, the plugin would convert them and display a search for ‘Apple iPhone’ like this – http://www.amitbhawani.com/blog/search/iphone/ which would display all the content only related to the term and would also act like Tags and you can link to these kind of pages through your articles too.

Recent Searches Wordpress Widget

Installation Procedure :
1. Upload recent-searches-widget directory to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3. Add Recent Searches widget to your Sidebar, configure and enjoy

All the search result pages which would be created can be set as rel=”nofollow” to make sure they are not indexed, but if you want a Search Engine Traffic boost its very important to keep them indexed and also get a idea on what your visitors are searching at your blog.

There is another option available under the plugin settings which would display the box only when the visitor reaches the complete end of the page.
