Disqus Comment Forums System for Blogs
Disqus is a service developed by Big Head Labs from San Francisco which was founded by Daniel Ha and Jason Yan. It is a blog forum where you can discuss on the topics of your blogs and reply to other commentors.

- Feeds and notifications — Get them through RSS or through email. Reply to the notification to post a reply on the go
- Ratings and Sorting — Simply cast your judgment with a quick rating on comments – then sort through the mess to get to the good stuff
- Anti-spam, anti-trolls — We’ll take care of your spam problems – without captchas. And yes, there’s also the ability to pinpoint and filter out pesky trolls
I instantly joined this service and got a account with disqus, and logged into the dashboard section where i found it to be pretty neat and simple which anyone can understand easily, though its currently in Beta.
First of all you will be asked to create your forum[yourforum.disqus.com] and the next step follows with the Integration of comment system with your blog which is normally allowed with Wordpress, Blogger[blogspot], TypePad & Movable Type.
I had selected the wordpress plugin option and i was offered a plugin to download and upload on my blog’s backend and needed to activate it, once thats done your forum is ready.
The forum is updated instantly with all your blog posts and your own blog gets a new comment submit form instead of your normal submit form which looks this way.
All the comments are instantly updated on the disqus forum and the replies are shown in a tree format, i guess you guys can give it a try but the main reason for trying would be only when you have a lot of comments on your blog and this system would help your visitors to stop commenting with “@” symbol. Overall Disqus commenting system adds threads, comment/user ratings, spam control, and user identities. The system can either replace all your comments (starting from nothing), or only be activated on new posts. If you find it’s not what you want, you can just deactivate the plugin to get back your old comments.

Let me know if you find any problem with them, since currently this service is removing all the comments from my blog and i guess this way i will lose all of them.

We do not remove comments from your blog. You can choose to use Disqus for future entries only and your old comments will stay intact.

Daniel , In case in future i want to stop using this service will i get all the comments back to my blog ? or is there any option where in i can have a copy on my blog too like techcrunch right now is running.

As far as i think Amit doesnt sell links in his Blogs and so does the posts…. and this post is made because he liked it and not for money…. Just as far as my info says… Amit only need to comment on it… to clear this confusion of “blogging tips”
