Dont Buy Tata Indicom Broadband Services

Home » Tata Indicom Broadband

This seems to be the third time iam writing my personal review on TATA Indicom broadband services because of the real bad experiance iam having with them.
I already had bad experiance but since i had prepaid them for a 512 kbps connection at my office i didnt have any other option rather than going with Tata indicom only. One more problem was BSNL has a waiting time of 4 months minimum and since iam damn busy at my new office setup which is going to be a 1000 sft space office with many sections for 2 new business integrated in the seo and hosting business i run.
I gave a shifting request for my connection on june 25 and till date there is no update from them and when i call them they say the request was recieved on 2nd of july  , and today its 8th and still no update though the shifting takes a maximum of 7 days as per their call center officials.
I would suggest dont go for TATA Broadband even if they offer you for Free! :(

We will send you some more information related to Dont Buy Tata Indicom Broadband Services

My wireless broadband connection was installed on 17th Feb 2009. AND I HAVE NOT BROWSED CONTINOUSLY FOR MORE THAN 20 MINS SINCE THEN. THERE IS A FREQUENT DISCONNECTTION PROBELM WITH MY CONNECTION. I logged complaint many times but there were no actions taken.

I paid Rs 2124/- to install the connection and now the worst part is that “My account” is showing Rs 1268/- amount as outstanding balance.

Bill was generated on 21st Feb 09. In just four days they charged me 1268/- amount again.

The worst services in the world.

Yes Tata Indicom is the worst of all telephone services, I think every one who is still using there services should look for other options. I feel Vodaphone is the best of service followed byReliance and Airtel. However it is still personal choice.
I had a landline and mobile phone connection. I suggest to all the reader and buyer to take your decision carefully. Tata telephone services is just a big flop and they are cons. They force you to keep the connections. One more thing I will like to say all the reader, alway buy a telephone which does not belong to these companies, rather buy these from companies shop directly. Most phone companies support all the cdma and gsm both, however if you have bought the phone separately you will easily move from one telephone service provide to another.
I think Tata Indicom is doing very bad so they are looting customers. Always choose a prepaid connection, it is easier to drop these connections without any hassel.

  • I am from New York and I was planning to get a connection for my parents in Kerala so I can talk to them on Skype. However reading all the broadband reviews I am amazed at how primitive this service is in Inida. I saw a comment here from a person who runs a SEO and hosting business? How do you run your business without a proper internet connection? You must be sick with these guys? Tell them to give you a fucking good service if you pay them

This is the worst possible service provider.. worse than the days when the government controlled all utilities. This company is a disgrace to India – since they purport to be the commercial face of the nation. My internet has been down for 8 days – and they arent even willing to call me back or to connect me to their supervisors. This is the 21st century, but in a country like India it is really unfortunate that thanks to companies like Tata our quality levels suck. Maybe instead of getting into everything from cars to communication, Tata should learn to do one thing well. But that would be too much to ask. Don’t ever support Tata.

TATA Indicom’s service is PATHETIC to say the least. It looks like they don’t have the words like ‘responsibility and punctuality) in their dictionary.

I had bought a TATA Indicom USB modem [Sim card #: A000000A58E1FB (80 B2 80 77)] on Aug. 6, 2008, and was promised activation within 4 days which never happened. Even after 15 days and making repeated calls to the salesperson, I did not get the activation done. So I decided to cancel the service and applied for cancellation (#901214165) at their office in Kormangala, Bangalore. I promptly returned the USB modem and was told that I would be getting the refund of the deposit amount (Rs. 700 only) after 45 days of cancellation, at my postal address. Now, it is 3 months and I still do not know what happened to that money.

An employee of TATA Indicom in Kormangala, Bangalore office, had promised me that he would get it done asap. But when I tried to contact him thro’ SMS or phone calls, he neither replied nor answered my phone calls. I suspect that the money would have disappeared into that employee’s pocket already.

If anyone is considering to avail TATA Indicom’s services (especially telecom), PLEASE reconsider if you value your time and hard-earned money.

I’ve had the singular experience of having simultaneously used Tata and Reliance broadband over a period of 2 months.

    Tata:
    – Customer Service: Shaky. Their CS phone lines were sometimes down, preventing me from calling them. When their phones work, they’re friendly and courteous, and their support staff are knowledgeable.
    – Speed: Good. Varied speed tests showed their download speeds to consistently be between 1.7 to 2Mbps. Their upload speeds were between 500 and 600kbps.
    – Reliability: Shaky. Their connection seems to fluctuate for several seconds, every 10 minutes or so.
    – Price: Expensive. I took the 2Mbps, Unlimited plan, and it’s costing me 3300 pm.
    – Misc Issues: Their servers seem to block some sites (not porn or illegal sites, just some perfectly normal sites). I have to call them every time I detect such a site. It’s frustrating because my work gets interrupted (that’s when I temporarily switch to Reliance).
Another issue is that it’s unwise to power off their modem. It takes 15 minutes to reboot it and one 15 minute support call to solve it. That wastes 30 minutes of my time.

    Reliance:
    – Customer Service: God awful. Their staff are ignorant, ill-informed and stupid to a fault. I’ve logged 15 support calls with them, and just one was solved, and only was solved (after several days) after I called their head office in Mumbai (DAKC). Their field engineers are liars and their CS staff are toothless.
    – Speed: Bad. Varied speed tests showed their download speeds to consistently be between 1.3 to 1.7Mbps. Their upload speeds were between 0 and 15kbps. (Yes!! – 0!!) Do not expect to upload anything (attachments, photos, whatever), if you have a Reliance connection.
    – Reliability: Good. Their connection was consistent. Download always works, upload never works.
    – Price: Reasonable. I took the 2Mbps, Unlimited plan, and it’s costing me 1200 pm.
    – Misc Issues: None

Hi guys i am a tata user. My experiece is not very bad. In fact i likes tata very much for the serving me upto 2mbps speed for 13 hours a day at a very cheap price of 640 per month that too download speed averaging at 300-400 kbps. That was amazing. Being a software engg i like fast speeds as i get in my office. But i must tell at least in my region, Pune, i am satisfied with Tata’s service.

But one day they shot bullet on me, not literally.
But they increased the price for the plan that i was having. now the same plan is chaged 999 per month… DAMN i shouldnt have told my friends about the plan you see. :-(

I am a resident of Coimbatore, TN. I took a Tata BB connection, Infinity 384 by paying 4 months advance rental of Rs. 4495/-. Right from the day of installation on Aug 8, 2008, till date, I could use it only for a total of 8 days. Whenever I am calling the CC, I get a standard reply that my problem will be solved at the highest priority, thank you sir for calling tata sir, have a nice day sir, etc. For the last 10 days, the server remains down. Such an incompetent thugs sitting over there. Shame on TATA services. Some one should take them to court and cancel their license as they are worse than daylight robbers. They have no right to sell any more connections. Can any one guide me how to go about terminating the services. Pls mail me to kgnath@yahoo.com.

  • Pramod says:

    Dear Sir/Mam,
I want to first of all give the Award of best third class service to this Tata Indicom Broadband that has really satisfied me completly for never using any service of tata weather that is net, mobile or other because I took connection of this in march but hardly my net was browsing for 20 to 25 days in four months and in june this has created record for browsing the net only for two days really this is such best service that’s charge was only Rs.3100 but I had to bear in phone call as well as cyber cafe Rs.6 to 7 thousand. But I am satisfied now that my four months period is going to over and I am going to get rid from this best third class service. because here is no compensation’s of the days when net was not browsing wheather the mistake was from company side or not like fiber cut, wire cut, server problem and others. But it’s really good in billing matter that always send on time. so now being a perfect consumer I can take gurantee of the services of tata broadband. and employees are really smart they thin just any space of suffring is left so they called me for wireless net really I will always remember this period and share it with those 20 or 50 people who meet me in my daily life because I am also in public relationship field. So that they will not bear any such type of best service.

Thanks, For such Best Services (Should be awarded)

    With Regards
    Pramod

My experience with TATA indicom broadband service at KOCHI is not at all bad.
There were breaks in the service. As soon as we register the complaint, it was attended, the max delay was only 2 days when there was some server problem. Recently TATA personnel contact us to enquire about the connection.

The difficulty that i faced was in getting connected to the customer service and the dragging conversation of the customer service personnel. Recently, even there is change to that too.

But OVERALL the performance of the service is good and am satisfied with the TATA INDICOM BROADBAND UNLIMITED PREPAID SERVICE.

the shifting of connection were also done without any delay. twice i shifted connection during last 2 years and the shifting was done in less than a week while the govt. telephone services take months to shift connection. recently i shifted house about a week back and using the tata indicom from the new p lace. no news about the telephone people.
Tata indicom pre-paid service is very good.

My experience with tata indicom pre-paid broad band connection was very good.
    timely connection and timely service.
this is the case that i found in kerala and mumbai.
only problem that i faced is getting connected to the customer service where we will be in queue for minutes together and the polite arrogant behaviour of the customer service personnel who keep on asking irrelevant questions and drag the conversation.
All other services are quite good. I say this basing on my experience with using tata indicom pre-paid broad band connections for about 2 years.

So now i have shifted to AIRTEL BROAD BAND

    Hi all,
This is real experience with Tata indicom.
I paid 1800 for connection and at lost after 1 week I got connection.
According to the details given by the representative, I should get the connection for 3 months with 3 GB download. But I used for 12 days and the lost connection.
I called tata indocom but no responce. I just got frustrated ans contacted them directly and came to know that they gave me limited connection which was also charged for browsing.
    Stupid Tata indocom.
Now I am using Relaence with no problem

TataIndicom can even offer 100GB per month because itz assued that u will never be able to get connected and use the connection. Go for TataIndicom if u have so much money to throw away. attractive rates. problem is that u will have to spend double the amount on phone begging these people for service. i have taken a pre-paid connection. (Super Value Offer). After 3 months, I could not even consume 50MB till date though they offered 1GB /month because i hardly got connection. itz fast but average connectivity is 2 hrs in one week. When u call the service people they reply like “Server problems, wait for 2 days / Server problem solved, tomorrow you send me an SMS / Our technicians are too lazy yaar, what to do? / All technicians are on leave, what to do? / what to do” / “Cabling problem sir, What to do” / “I am sleeping sir” / “I have a headache sir, can you call me tomorrow” / “Your problem is not yet solved sir? Our server is perfectly ok now sir. I will send somebody to check the cabling sir / I am on leave sir” They lack basic manners while they take somebody’s money and offer a service. Though they offer connection within two days, I got it after 4 weeks. After all these issues, i called up the sales guy as if I am a new customer and I want to take one connecton. He offered a connection with in 2 days. I asked him “What if not happens with in 2 days?”. I was completely impressed of his 300% assurance of a connection in 2 days (luckly I didn’t apply for another connection and wasted my money!!!!!). TATA INDICOM CHEATERS
