My wireless broadband connection was installed on 17th Feb 2009. AND I HAVE NOT BROWSED CONTINOUSLY FOR MORE THAN 20 MINS SINCE THEN. THERE IS A FREQUENT DISCONNECTTION PROBELM WITH MY CONNECTION. I logged complaint many times but there were no actions taken.

I paid Rs 2124/- to install the connection and now the worst part is that "My account" is showing Rs 1268/- amount as outstanding balance.

Bill was generated on 21st Feb 09. In just four days they charged me 1268/- amount again.

Yes Tata Indicom is the worst of all telephone services, I think every one who is still using there services should look for other options. I feel Vodaphone is the best of service followed byReliance and Airtel. However it is still personal choice.
I had a landline and mobile phone connection. I suggest to all the reader and buyer to take your decision carefully. Tata telephone services is just a big flop and they are cons. They force you to keep the connections. One more thing I will like to say all the reader, alway buy a telephone which does not belong to these companies, rather buy these from companies shop directly. Most phone companies support all the cdma and gsm both, however if you have bought the phone separately you will easily move from one telephone service provide to another.
I think Tata Indicom is doing very bad so they are looting customers. Always choose a prepaid connection, it is easier to drop these connections without any hassel.

I am from New York and I was planning to get a connection for my parents in Kerala so I can talk to them on Skype. However reading all the broadband reviews I am amazed at how primitive this service is in Inida. I saw a comment here from a person who runs a SEO and hosting business? How do you run your business without a proper internet connection? You must be sick with these guys? Tell them to give you a fucking good service if you pay them

This is the worst possible service provider.. worse than the days when the government controlled all utilities. This company is a disgrace to India - since they purport to be the commercial face of the nation. My internet has been down for 8 days - and they arent even willing to call me back or to connect me to their supervisors. This is the 21st century, but in a country like India it is really unfortunate that thanks to companies like Tata our quality levels suck. Maybe instead of getting into everything from cars to communication, Tata should learn to do one thing well. But that would be too much to ask. Don't ever support Tata.

TATA Indicom's service is PATHETIC to say the least. It looks like they don't have the words like 'responsibility and punctuality) in their dictionary.

I had bought a TATA Indicom USB modem [Sim card #: A000000A58E1FB (80 B2 80 77)] on Aug. 6, 2008, and was promised activation within 4 days which never happened. Even after 15 days and making repeated calls to the salesperson, I did not get the activation done. So I decided to cancel the service and applied for cancellation (#901214165) at their office in Kormangala, Bangalore. I promptly returned the USB modem and was told that I would be getting the refund of the deposit amount (Rs. 700 only) after 45 days of cancellation, at my postal address. Now, it is 3 months and I still do not know what happened to that money.

An employee of TATA Indicom in Kormangala, Bangalore office, had promised me that he would get it done asap. But when I tried to contact him thro' SMS or phone calls, he neither replied nor answered my phone calls. I suspect that the money would have disappeared into that employee's pocket already.

If anyone is considering to avail TATA Indicom's services (especially telecom), PLEASE reconsider if you value your time and hard-earned money.

I've had the singular experience of having simultaneously used Tata and Reliance broadband over a period of 2 months.

Tata:
- Customer Service: Shaky. Their CS phone lines were sometimes down, preventing me from calling them. When their phones work, they're friendly and courteous, and their support staff are knowledgeable.
- Speed: Good. Varied speed tests showed their download speeds to consistently be between 1.7 to 2Mbps. Their upload speeds were between 500 and 600kbps.
- Reliability: Shaky. Their connection seems to fluctuate for several seconds, every 10 minutes or so.
- Price: Expensive. I took the 2Mbps, Unlimited plan, and it's costing me 3300 pm.
- Misc Issues: Their servers seem to block some sites (not porn or illegal sites, just some perfectly normal sites). I have to call them every time I detect such a site. It's frustrating because my work gets interrupted (that's when I temporarily switch to Reliance).
Another issue is that it's unwise to power off their modem. It takes 15 minutes to reboot it and one 15 minute support call to solve it. That wastes 30 minutes of my time.

Reliance:
- Customer Service: God awful. Their staff are ignorant, ill-informed and stupid to a fault. I've logged 15 support calls with them, and just one was solved, and only was solved (after several days) after I called their head office in Mumbai (DAKC). Their field engineers are liars and their CS staff are toothless.
- Speed: Bad. Varied speed tests showed their download speeds to consistently be between 1.3 to 1.7Mbps. Their upload speeds were between 0 and 15kbps. (Yes!! - 0!!) Do not expect to upload anything (attachments, photos, whatever), if you have a Reliance connection.
- Reliability: Good. Their connection was consistent. Download always works, upload never works.
- Price: Reasonable. I took the 2Mbps, Unlimited plan, and it's costing me 1200 pm.
- Misc Issues: None

Hi guys i am a tata user. My experiece is not very bad. In fact i likes tata very much for the serving me upto 2mbps speed for 13 hours a day at a very cheap price of 640 per month that too download speed averaging at 300-400 kbps. That was amazing. Being a software engg i like fast speeds as i get in my office. But i must tell at least in my region, Pune, i am satisfied with Tata's service.

But one day they shot bullet on me, not literally.
But they increased the price for the plan that i was having. now the same plan is chaged 999 per month... DAMN i shouldnt have told my friends about the plan you see. :-(
