Downgrade Firmware iPhone 2.2.1 to 2.2 Unlocked
I just upgraded my Apple iPhone to version 2.2.1 by mistake because whenever i connect the handset to my laptop, iTunes starts running and it shows a message to upgrade and install and by mistake i clicked on YES. Which means that the new software got downloaded and after a hours time i saw that my iPhone restarted after getting itself backedup. Next the upgrade process started which took another 10 minutes and i saw that the iPhone again restarted with the Apple Logo on it and then finally ended with a locked screen , which when opened showed me a keypad to call emerygency numbers, hooray i just got my iPhone locked myself without the option of no-unlocking because there is no solution for this yet.
One of the best option which i felt was to Restore my firmware 2.2.1 to 2.2 which can be unlocked easily and offcourse for free of cost. Here is the process of the same.
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
Turn iPhone off Manually
Hold power and home together for 10 seconds exactly
Release power but keep holding home until the computers beeps (observed on a PC) as a USB device is recognized.
A few seconds later iTunes should detect your iPhone.
Next you will find a option in the iTunes with the ‘Restore’ button active which means that you can restore your firmware version of your iPhone back to the previous one but expect all your data to be lost because only the system data was backed up and not your personal data which is stored in the iPhone in the photos, music, video’s section. Next you need to follow this process to unlock the iPhone.
