Google Sms Channel – Free Group SMS Messages

I had already discussed previously about this service from Google Labs team which allows you to subscribe to others SMS Channels or else create your own SMS Group. Now let make you understand how you can use this service to create a mini group and send free sms within your group instantly.

The Google SMS Channel service needs you to signin through your Google account here where you will find all the top channels based on categories and with Editor’s picks. You also have a option to search for different channels based on locations ie Indian Cities through which you can find the most relevant channel you are searching for and subscribe through email.

When you click on the subscribe button you instantly see a message showing as ‘Subscribed’ after which you will become a member of that channel and whenever there is any post updated by the channel owner all the members get the message on their mobile phone instantly. Sometimes the message delivery takes up few hours delay because of the network carriers delay but normally the messages are sent within minutes.

There is a option called as ‘My Channels’ where you can find all the channels you are subscribed too and from this very section you can Unsubscribe to the channels and also invite your friends to become a member by entering upto 5 different mobile phone numbers. These friends would get invitations through SMS with option to subscribe which they have to confirm by sending a SMS back.

Create a channel on any name and then invite all your friends and network through the online labs options or by sending your friends a Invite code which they need to confirm or else by sending them the Subscription link for the channel which is something like this – http://labs.google.co.in/smschannels/subscribe/AmitBhawani found in the channels page of the channel creator.
