HostGator and The Planet which is the world’s largest privately held hosting company have partnered and in the part of this deal HostGator will lease 1700 Servers with The Planet though the financial terms were not disclosed.

Hostgator is a privately owned company by Brent Oxley , a college student who in the year 2002 started this web hosting company with less than 1000USD and leased 2 dedicated servers with this fund. After having more than a hundred clients in the first year and 1000+ in the second year Brent Oxley started hiring a team to support his business.

Hostgator now has achieved a 500,000+ Web sites hosting base and is rapidly increasing with the revenue in the year 2006 touching 110,00,000$ and this is mainly because of their best support and services with his currently 80 employees.
Now these 1700 Additional Servers may move hostgator to the top in the web hosting companies list
