This is supported with the lines that IndiaTimes is ICANN has accredited them as a Domain Registrar. This is a very old service if iam not wrong and the advertisements are just for promoting their services and grabbing more clients because currently there is a downfall in the Domain Name Registrations all over the world which is the reason there are speculations that the pricing of domain name registrations would go down if the down fall continues.
