ADVERTISEMENTS

Here is a interesting website with a unique service called LibriVox which is a non-commercial, non-profit and ad-free project powered by volunteers from all around the globe.

Aim of LibriVox Project :
The aim of this project is to records chapters of books and release them in audio version files back onto the net for free. The recordings are hosted on a public domainLibriVox Project Logo which means any user can do anything with these audio files and use them in anyway they want to. These recordings are free and they can be sold, commercialised without any credit given back to LibriVox though the usage should be at par with the user’s countries copyright laws.

The current team at LibriVox claims that they are 100% non profit association, not looking for advertisers and are hosted for free with the audio files being hosted by archieve.org with the project being started in 2005 by Hugh Mcquire

Just finished downloading some of the Mark Twain collection. I will try and listen these instead of radio on my way to office.

Its nice to see that the service is free and one can even distribute it and make money without giving back the credits. So something good to sell on eBay now.
