New Location Based Tariff after Per Second Billing

Seconds Based Billing

Seconds Based Billing

The mobile phone operators who are already opting for the Per Second Billing, to make sure they join the Docomo campaign are now going to offer Location based mobile tariff which means that the mobile phone users would get discounts on their call charges if the operators network is free. Also called as the Dynamic Discount Tariffing which allows the network provider to bill the customer based on their time and location, rather than at fixed rates.

The technology for this new billing system is being provided by US based PrePaid mobile provider Telcordia and it seems like most Indian Telecom operators are going to opt for this. Based on this the subscribers would get discounted tariff and the operators would get better utilization of their network resources because normally their networks are not used. Currently all the calls are charged at flat billing rates on minutes or seconds basis and not on the location basis, which means that the customers would happily opt for this, once its activated.
