How i made 1500$ from 2$ & 1 Hour Job with Mini Website
There are many many ways of Making Money Online and out of all these, i always believe in those where the Investment is almost nothing except the Time Factor. In this article i will tell you how i invested 1 hour of my Time, Lots & Lot of Patience, and 2$ as a investment.
First of all you need to have a Lot of Patience when you try out these kind of options, because setting up a mini website would mean that you should be investing around 1 hour of time and buying a domain name of any extension to reduce initial costs. Setting up a Mini Website would not take more than a hour if you have basic knowledge on Internet & implementing simple things and the most important thing is that you dont need to maintain these websites because they are simple and small.
The Story :
I started searching for a domain name on a Indian Celebrity Name – Bipasha Basu , for which the .com version was not available and even other TLD’s like .info, net, .org etc was not available, hence i went for a Typo Domain Name with a .info extension. It was a compromise for me since there was no other domain name available at that moment. I registered the domain name through domainsite.com on 2006-05-28 for 1.99$ and since i already had a hosting account, i hosted the website there and started downloading some wallpapers of Bipasha Basu. Once a good amount of wallpapers were found, i renamed most of these Images and created a Wallpapers Gallery using web album generator script which is a desktop application , which you need to download from their website and install on your computer.
You can create a beautiful wallpapers gallery within 3 minutes using the Creation Wizard of this software, after which there are a few Index pages and detailed wallpaper pages are creates all in .html format. Just upload the created website which looks like my Tattoo Gallery which was also created using the same software. Next once the website was uploaded and ready i started doing the basic link building of this website and left it as it is for the time being. Since new websites need sometime to rank and get traffic, i didnt work on this website and left it, waiting for some ranking atleast for the typo keyword.
On August 17, 2006 , i added Google Adsense Ads on this website using Dreamweaver software which helps you to edit multiple html files in one go using the option – search and replace code. The website had a total of 123 pages out of which none of them are never edited because its a Mini Website which i wanted to make me money without any time investment and updations.

In the beginning the website started making a quarter dollar everyday which was not a big amount but i calculated the income based on this. If in a years time of 365 days even if it makes the same 0.25$/day i would have made atleast around a 100$ and my cost in this was the domain name registration cost which is very less than this, hence its a total profit case overall. I just had to renew this website every year and leave it, because as the website’s age increases it starts ranking better and i believe in not making changes in websites which are static since it can give you negative results.
After around 3 years i recently logged into the adsense account and found that till date there were around 850000 Total Adsense Ad Impressions and the website had around 8% Click-Through-Rate on the ads. Since this website is related to Entertainment niche which pays very less, i had made very less income even though there were a lot of clicks in total, but still you can guess that how a 2$ domain name which was registered and a website developed within a hour, had made me earn 1500$ in total during this period. If i would have made a couple more websites like this during that period iam sure in the long run i would have made a big money because of a complete network.
You need patience and calculations whenever you are building Mini websites because investing time in these is also not a good idea and going for automated models is always good. I cannot reveal the traffic stats of the Bipasa Basu website but you can find it ranking in the top for the celebrity name, bringing in around 1000 visitors every day.

Very impressive post there Amit, I agree you need to have a lot of patience. I have a few sites that have been just put up for Adsense revenue and they are starting to do well now.
I wonder why I never gamed Adsense in the last 2 years when it is so easy. Lol

@Amit, Google Adsense can really make you rich if you work seriously on your website. Whenever you think about Affiliate Links on your websites just compare the results of the same with Adsense ads for 15days each. Iam sure adsense would make you happy because of consistent income.

@Vishal, If you read the last para in the article – i did mention some Google Adsense Stats of that website – 850000 Total Adsense Ad Impressions and the website had around 8% Click-Through-Rate
Also i had setup some CPM ads recently which are also giving some extra money. This income of 1500$ was made till date from this website and the money which i will be making now will be added to the already made 1500 bucks! This is just a example of one website, i have a lot of websites like these!

all r hosted on blogspot…this might be a problem…
shud i buy a domain name and redirect to all them in particular..

@Yogesh Goel, First of all never use blogspot blogs if possible since domain names and web hosting accounts are really cheap – http://www.alivewebhosting.com/
Next you can still try out with 25% of your celebrity sites and check out the results, if they slowly improve you need to focus on these websites because for sure rank in the long run

@Yogesh Goel, Always go for self hosted website because that way you dont have to worry about anything. Even if you use blogger hosting system there are would be some problem, hence its recommended to go for any webhosting company like hostbrains.com or any listed here – http://www.alivewebhosting.com/ and register both domain+host and get started.
When you start making good amount of money the renewal charges wont be more that 5% of your total revenue in a year, still people keep worrying about these costs.

@Vishal, As i already mentioned in the article i used Macromedia Dreamviewer tool to make some editings. In my tattoo gallery which is installed at http://www.amitbhawani.com/tattoo/ i had changed the gallery url from .html to .php using CMD Prompt. I generally use the most simple tools and applications for most of my work , like notepad for writing articles, basic photo editing & resizing with MS Paint etc!

@Vishal, Vishal in case of a dynamic photo gallery like wordpress based photo gallery you can update it and in case of static one you need not work. Both would get similar ranking but because of fresh additions dynamic sites would get better rankings. In my view a mini site should not be touched because we are talking about a website with no future work and investment and automated income.

@imran, Bandwidth is dependant on the traffic your website gets. If you are expecting many visitors then you need to go for a bigger plan. Also for a website like http://www.bipasabasu.info/ 100 Mb space is also quite enough because it has limited amount of images.
