Dude, those days are gone when you are given value purely for your education and degree, your words are true in 1997-2002. i have graduated from IIT and have worked with the infy, wipro and now working for a top notch US product development company for the past decade. I have made decent money in IT industry. I have many of my IIT colleagues who went to US for higher studies and MBAs , few of them got settled happily, but significant majority of them are just working for a lower pay and facing an internal turmoil, the only thing they got to show is their MIT, Harvard or stanford degree, they are in a peculiar situation of “high recognition/fame with excellent college background but low spending capacitiy due to lack of money”, internally they are suffering due to lack of lucrative jobs. Today’s business dosen’t need our intelligence or polished skills or the brand of your college, they just want how you can “get the job done” in the way they want. In this circumstance, earning money online either by blogging or otherwise is a very good idea in my opinion. In the end Money matters more significantly than it did previously..an excellent degree with recognition/fame but low paying income source is a disaster…which is what is happening in the current market..

An MBA degree or Blogging profession ?There is no comparison between the two.Being an MBA from a good college is far more better than doing just blogging,you get the opportunity of working for some of the best companies in the industries and in very different type of situation and the return is way much more than just blogging.in blogging hardly people know about you.you hardly get any recognition.

Extra ordinary comparison!! I really like your article. Now it’s the time to think for being a blogger or getting a degree… what’s say guys… but one can be a blogger and can pursue degree part time or via distance learning…. choice is yours…

You raised a mathematical correction in your first comment, thats fine, no one has any problem with that.
BUT…
How dare you got the right to declare other’s as ‘fool’ or blogging as ‘fool’s profession’ ???
Instead of apology, you have been trying yourself to prove correct, while actually you are one of the best example of ‘intellectually bankrupt’.
OK.. I can understand your frustration is due to over-pressure of work just for some ‘bait’.

Yes, it is good for you to quit buddy…from now on, think at least 1000 times before declaring somebody else as ‘fool’.

really either this guy is such a fool that he do not understand what i m wanna to convey or so smart that at any cost just he wants replies shud be continued.

but in both cases i m giving up……….. i can not just talk on to make some one understand who is really do not able to comprehend anything.

or who is intellectually so bankrupt that he will be keep on discussing a crap just for the sake of few bucks………

thats why only i said be honest to ur profession and do a quality work……… all profession are good and any profession suits to the one who do it from his heart. it cud be blogging, writing,
music, management or business………..
so at the first level comparison itself is wrong.

i am feeling so pitty that by mistake i commented on such a low level write up.
still just to make people understand many times i rewritten that my objection was just due to the numbers mentioned in first post and irony is that no body is reading that………… all they are doing is raising the issue whr even i m agree with few………..

thats why i am giving up atl asts

You have put the example of Chetan Bhagat (writer & blogger) yourself here, which is contradicting your OWN thoughts about bloggers.
AND,
as you “preached” here: ”IN WHATEVER PROFESSION YOU ARE RESPECT IT AND GIVE YOUR 100%”,

I would say “First, learn how to respect OTHER’S and their profession as well, and ‘WHO ARE YOU’ to declare other’s work as ‘PROFESSION OF FOOLS’.

I would also like to answer about your thoughts, like: “… doesnt make the sense that as a profession writers are better than engineers or managers. …”

Rahul,how many people know you, outside your employer’s place ???… as you are an Engineer + MBA + Investment Analyst.

Now compare yourself with Chetan Bhagat in points of Name,Fame, Social respect and ‘EARNINGS’ as well.
And please, use your ‘Engg.+MBA+Analyst’ skills throughly in calculations giving your 100%.

Sorry to all SERIOUS bloggers……… if my words were rude
But i am sure if anybody who is getting benefited from all this is mr. bhavani….. and that thought really not making me quite comfortable.
I never intended to comment on how much blogger earns or who has higher social status or who’s boss and who’s not.
what i intended to convey is that mr. bhawani being a serial blogger shud hav done his homework before putting the figures. as his figure do not support his own artical……… thats all. nothing personal.
and the logic lots of iitian are doing blogging is like that chetan bhagat is (IIT+ IIM) & is a writer…… doesnt make the sense that as a profession writers are better than engineers or managers. ……….. so please my all very intelligent bloggers do not get hurt,
just put your 100% and do proper research before blogging.

@ rahul sharma: To the jack of all trades, who I assume is currently pursuing an MBA and is really unaware of the potential MARKETING LEVERAGE of the online world. Dude, its really a shame that you being in favour of MBA dont understand the sales analytics itself.
If blogging were to be called a fool’s business then companies would’nt have focussed on building brand image through blog reviews, srk would never have used twitter and aamir khan could’nt have increased his fan base and set a hype about his next movie much ahead of its release.

The fools who are currently pursuing an MBA find this blogging at a later part of their life when they have already wasted 2 years of their life reading all theoretical bullshit, which when encounters the practical world finds no match to experience !! So my frnd Rahul is certainly dejected and frustrated that he could’nt find about blogging lately before wasting his precious years and working in meagre paying job which sucks the hell out of an individual from 9 -5.

Advantages of blogging are immense and the best thing is that you being the boss earn money as well as fame. Amit bhawani is a living example of the above statement and rahul you being such a jerk din’nt even think twice before writing that comment.

With all the mathematical calculations that you have shown to prove your point as a strong MBA guy only makes you a stronger candidate to be hired as an audit guy for my upcoming media company. Blogging is an intelligent business and I am glad that not much fools have saturated this place!!

FYI: I am a B.Tech engineer myself who quit his plans to do an MBA after learning enough management expertise through the self education and practical project management route !!
