Non US Publishers not to be paid WidgetBucks
I just read probloggers interview with CEO of widgetbucks where he mentioned - The key factor is non-converting clicks from outside of U.S. and Canada, because the reality is that this traffic is dragging down RPC across the board. International users who click-through to a U.S. merchant’s site and highly unlikely to purchase from that merchant for various reasons, such as language barrier or shipping cost. Finally, with today’s news of the international traffic credit change, we’d suggest publishers adjust their geographic-coding for U.S. and Canada where WidgetBucks widgets appear
With this update you guys need to have a geotargetting feature on your website where in if your visitor is from US you will display widgetbucks adverts for them and if he is from other Non-US Countries he will be referred to other adverts which you place , may be adsense / direct affiliate banners so you dont lose revenue, because a click from Non-US country visitor will lead him to mpire.com homepage and the publishers wont be credited for this.
Latest Upgradations by WidgetBucks Team :
* Real-time referral tracking. We’ve had a lot of publishers ask for rolled up referral totals so we’re looking to add that. Also, within the referral table, referred accounts are only listed by ID, not by email, unless the referred publisher proactively selects the “Share Referrer Information.” Otherwise, it will default to the ID only.
* Show Deleted Widgets. This let’s publishers look at earnings from inactive widgets.
* Hexcode colors. Publishers now have more control over the color of the WidgetBucks widgets on their site by using a 6-digit hexcode 0-F or go from the color palette.
* Publishers can now determine the interval speed of how products are displayed on their widgets. It’s currently defaulted to three seconds, but can be adjusted between 1-10 seconds.
Also there is a maintainence schedule by Widgetbucks :
WidgetBucks will be performing scheduled maintenance for up to an hour from 10:00pm to 11:00pm Pacific Standard Time tonight, Wednesday, November 14th. All website and ad services, including WidgetBucks ads, will be offline during this network upgrade. During maintenance, WidgetBucks widgets will display a place-holder advertisement.
All updates will be completed as quickly as possible to minimize any impact to your business.
Thank you for your patience and choosing WidgetBucks.

WidgetBucks RPC Improvements :
As a valuable business partner of WidgetBucks, we wanted to get in touch with you regarding a recent concern.
As you may have noticed over the last few days, there has been some erosion of Revenue-Per-Click rates (RPCs) in some categories — and getting those RPC numbers back up is top priority for us right now.
We’re finding the key issue is network quality. You know, as do we, that network quality affects lead value to merchants. If conversion-to-sale decreases, it affects the RPCs merchants are willing to pay. This is exactly what we’re seeing with WidgetBucks.
We wanted to make sure you were looped in to our plans to restore RPCs, which we anticipate will be recovering over the next seven days:
First, we’re going to continue a significant amount of account suspensions in cases where the Terms of Use are being violated, such as for Click Fraud, Ad-Only Pages, and Non-English Sites.Second, we are no longer charging merchants for international traffic, that is, users coming from outside of the U.S. and Canada. As a result, international click traffic will be redirected to non-paid pages, specifically www.mpire.com. Therefore no publisher credit will be given for those clicks, starting mid-November.Third, we are beginning to gate subscriber registrations – in other words, every new account registered will require approval prior to placing our ads.
For more details, we’ve also published a formal/public post on Network Quality and RPCs on the WidgetBucks blog (http://widgetbucks.blogspot.com). Again, it should be a week or less before the RPCs are recovered.
Thanks for your understanding around this crucial issue, and for your patience as we solve it. We appreciate your continued work with us.
