Recently i attended a conference by the name BarCamp5 and was not satisfied by the overall gathering. Here are some suggestions if taken in a positively manner. Here are some notes on Organising, presenting & attending a conference.
Organising a Conference :
- Joining up as a team of organisers and making the initial plans & pouring in the basic ideas.
- Since we are discussing about online groups meeting offline, there would be some online group kind of message board or google groups etc where the basic discussions and interests are shown following which the organisers team would be decided and they would be alloted with some basic activites.
- Next round up would be to frame up the dates , the meet’s agenda, reason why this meets are required and how much time will each organiser dedicate for this meet.
- What would the gross expenses be and a approximates of these.
- Going for a sponsored / self funded with paid entry discussions
- Making sure that all the attendors are given complete information of the meet with detailed agenda, speakers list with their time slots etc.
- Perfect Registration system by making sure that the attendees wont have a problem on the meet day
- Inviting Special Guests which can help you in increasing the brand, creating exciting among the attendees and lot more benefits.
Participating a Conference :
- Going in for a conference for the first time? well even if the organisers have not given any information always try to have a matured decent dress selection
- Make sure you reach the meeting point on time and get your entry batches and get yourself registered
- Try to make the minimum conversations with your companion in order to avoid disturbance and try to keep eye contact with the spokes person because this gives him a idea that the participants are getting interest in his subject and he can offer a excellent speech.
- Try to note down the whole events on a paper/notebook session wise.
- Never leave the conference hall for a break in the middle of any session because it not only disturbs the speaker but also the
- Try to avoid using your cell phones and make sure its in the silent mode.
There are many more points but the above ones were some of my random views and ideas, you can suggest your own to make a conference perfect.

Thanks for the easy yet effective tips. Not switching off mobiles, and going out in the mid session are some of the most common distractions hated by everyone.
(p.s In the last but second point the sentence seems incomplete.)
Will like to have some tips on how to face the audience while speaking and avoid being nervous.
