How to Setup PC in Hibernate Mode

Nomally most computers are enabled with the hibernate feature, but sometimes they need to be manually setup in order to activate it. In order to setup Hibernate feature in your computer you need to open the ‘Power Options’ under the control panel. The Power Options offers you to reduce power consumption of the entire PC and allows you to create/use different power schemes by changing the display brightness, turning off hard disk & monitor etc.

Under the Power Options Properties, you will find a Tab named as ‘Hibernate’ which you need to click and , Check on ‘Enable Hibernation’ option which would require good amount of disk space on your hard disk drive since all the data is stored in your HDD from your RAM.

Hibernate Enable Power Options

This enables the hibernate option in your PC, but if you want to enable hibernate mode based on some conditions then you need to click on the ‘Power Schemes’ Tab and click on the System Hibernates : After x minutes/ Never. This helps you when you are running on batteries and you want to hibernate your PC automatically when it reaches low battery levels say something like 10%, when all the data and running programs will be automatically saved to the disk instead of closing them when the PC is shut down.

Enable System Hibernate Mode

Hibernate is a great feature in windows when you want to save your work and go for a break. Make sure you enable the hibernate feature along with automatic hibernation mode when its running on batteries.
