Super Cassettes Industries Limited [SCIL] aka T-Series moves to delhi high court against youtube the online video sharing company and its parent company google for ‘rank infringement of music copyright’. The counsel for T-series quotes that youtube makes money from advertisements and from PPC ads and the copyright content owners are not given any kind of monetory benefits.
The youtube policies are clearly stated that if any content is reported as copyright it will be removed down, but while uploading the content there wont be any moderation because enormous number of videos are uploaded daily and its practically not possible to moderate every video since many of these are not worth.
According to this new order youtube is not allowed to host T-Series content on their video sharing website and they will need to moderate all the uploaded content/videos if any T-series owned copyright content is uploaded. This step was mainly taken because T-Series was not benefited in anyway out of the uploaded videos though youtube was making big money from this online video sharing portal which google purchased and paid $1.65 billion in stock to acquire YouTube and the site is having a heavy sucess with 3,00,000 – 5,00,000 videos uploaded daily.
