ThinkPad X300 Notebook Thinnest Laptop from Lenovo

Lenovo in order to beat Apple Macbook Air has launched the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 notebook which weighs just 2.9 pounds with the price range also being almost the same of Air which is around 2799$ – 3179$ based on different sellers and their combo offers. The display size of this laptop is 13.3″ and offers a ultra thin and light feature making it suitable for business or travelling executives who would prefer a low weight and skinny laptop.

The features of Lenovo ThinkPad X300 includes 1.20GHz Intel Core 2 Duo L7100 processor with 1440×900 resolution based 13.3″ display screen and 2Gb Ram which can be upgraded to 4Gb. A Ultra-think DVD Burner with wifi & bluetooth support. 3 USB 2.0 ports, monitor out port, AC adapter & a option to select a operating system ie Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Now lets forget the features and first compare this ultra think laptop with Macbook Air and when you just keep them beside each other you can first select Air because of the classy look and then because of its features. Macbook Air is said to be much costly but when you compare Lenovo ThinkPad X300 with it, it seems Lenovo needs to reduce their price by 50% to get sales of this not-so-cool product. There is nothing really special except the outer dimensions of 12.4″ x 9.1″ x 0.73″ – 0.92″and this is not only the reason someone would just throw away their ~3000$ rather than going for a classy looking Sony Vaio laptop or any other best laptops.

The weight does make a important factor while deciding a new laptop to buy, but 1.4kgs is not really good when you compare the price. In addition to all these Lenovo claims ThinkPad X300 to be a low energy using laptop and is the Greenest ThinkPad ever because of their recyclable packaging, evergy saving low voltage processorts and mercury-free displays. The basic version of X300 starts at 2799$ and Apple Air starts at $1799 which makes a huge 1000$ different without anything really special in the Lenovo with a low storage memory of just 64Gb while other laptop brands are offering around 250Gb.

  1. You might want to consider improving in several areas before continuing to “review” any product. 1. Write in a language that you have an adequate command; clearly not English. 2. Know the details of the product and the market segment of that product. Then compare Apples with apples; such as the “Air” with SSD of the same size (which would have made the costs the same at that time). Although, that’s not entirely possible since the “Air” doesn’t have an optical drive and just the one Ethernet port…oop. Typical Apple, mostly flash (for those prone toward the flashy) vs. substance, which is the more industry oriented segment that ThinkPads are gear toward. 3. “Cool” or “Best” are more than a little subjective, but lets work with terminology that you are use (yet not understand fully). Have you ever heard of someone choosing the “little SILVER dress” for a formal occasion vs. the standard “little BLACK dress”. Of course, this might be difficult for some of the more garish oriented cultures to understand.
