How to trace the IP of a website

It has to find out whether the system is been hacked by someone and has to stop the hacking process. It also traces many IP domains at the same time. This is done by the IP Address look-up from the Domain Name Server (DNS) which is in turn used to find out the information of the system being traced.
Every computer will be assigned with an IP Address using which it is possible to browse through other sites. The assigning of IP Addresses is done dynamically for individual PC’s. So each time when you connect to internet, your system will be assigned different IP Addresses. Static IP’s are assigned to permanent sites. ISP’s job is to keep a record of log entries so that when it is reported abuse, ISP’s can trace the user using the date, day and time.
To trace the IP of a website, you can use visualware toolbar which is present in the Windows Taskbar. In order to add this, you need to right click pointing the cursor on Windows Taskbar and then select Toolbars -> Visualware. Next step is to select Trace an IP by right clicking on the icon. This will display the Visual IP Trace window.
Now click on the visualware systray icon and then choose options by right clicking on it. This process will display the visualware security suite options window. From this you can select the Visual IP Trace tab and then give the IP Address or domain name or host name which you want to trace. Then, the Identification Reports will be generated after a process of analysis on clicking the trace button.

I Know visualware very well, it also used in website hacking & finding information about the server.

One can also find the IP address of a website, without installing any third party tool.
Open command prompt (Start >> Run >> cmd) and try “tracert http://www.URL.com” .
It shows the ip of the website in the first row, the rest details are about all the servers through with your data is routed. This data can also be used to know if computer is being hacked.

Amit, thats a nice tool but its not free, I found a service provided by 81Solution that is free and tells physical location of any server based on URL or IP address, which uses Google Maps to display the location, check it out here

another tool called pingdom, can be used to traceroute an IP/Host

Have u checked the plugin in firefox that tells all the info about a websites’ ip to the server location. how far is it better than that???
