Very often almost every person is undergoing some depression or the other due to many reasons like work pressure, the type of neighborhood he or she is living in and many other reasons. A manic depression is related to many mood swings that an individual faces. This may be due to over excitement, or totally dejected and the stability of the patient’s mind also varies according to the phase he or she is going through.

It is during mania that a person may turn extremely talkative, may become hyper excited for insignificant things, might turn self centered and sometimes becomes euphoric. All these changes might lead to disturbed sleep, developing anger and irritation and the person might be unaware of his own weird behavior. If this depressive period is long, then there are chances that the patient might be in despair or might think that he is worthless or might even start feeling the guilt over no issue.

Now we know how manic depression is caused and hence it is always good to take preventive measures to avoid it to take over us than passing through such a phase. Hence the first and foremost thing that we should keep in mind is to avoid any stressful situations and even if we have to face them, it is important to keep a cool and strong mind thinking that we can handle it easily and such a positive attitude will build confidence and help us to solve things better and faster.

One of the strongest things that will help a person to relax his mind is music. Language does not really matter, it is the soothing effect that brings serenity to one’s mind and helps in having a stable mind. To relax one’s mind in this stressful and busy world, many relaxation techniques are gaining importance and these are helping an individual to live better and survive the stress and work pressures and other tackle other problems. Some of them are relation exercises, visualization and meditation.

If these techniques are not helping you out, then it is better for you to consult a doctor who will understand your situation better and will suggest you appropriate remedies like taking psychotherapy and also counseling might be helpful to prevent the manic depression from relapsing. This way the patient can understand and can figure out the problems and then cope up with your own stress and problems. Psychotherapy is not always helpful to patients because at times the person might increase his or her stressful condition by recollecting his past and sometimes it might prove fruitful by helping them to face reality.

To treat such manic depressions, several anti depression like seratonin and nor epinephrine medicines have been developed. But any day avoiding medication for such depressions is better because they might lead to several side effects in later stages and hence it is always better if the patient is given counseling in such a way that he starts thinking big in life and turns optimistic to overcome pressures achieve his goals.

    with all the technology at your disposal, why cant you have a simple audio on your site, which layman like me can just listen to, we sufferers who want to hear about how to cure or get near to being cured?
    See, depression-gone.com. They have one.It tells exacly what the problem is, what best can be done.
    All the reading that you suggest is no use.A depressed person may not go any further than reading the first paragraph!

    just to say that if you do have manic depression and stress related stuff ,you can see the changes in your life style…getting exited,going for something alternate to alter the state of mind to relax…its not going to be easy to find out why or how…just having a big drink is a symptom…B Good
